Acronis appoints Gerald Beuchelt as new CISO

Acronis has announced the appointment of Gerald Beuchelt as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

Gerald Beuchelt, a recognised cybersecurity professional, is set to lead Acronis' global security strategy and enhance its cyber protection initiatives. As CISO, he will oversee the global information security strategy of Acronis, focusing on safeguarding the company's data and technological infrastructure. Additionally, Beuchelt aims to advance Acronis' mission to protect data, applications, and systems worldwide.

In his new role, Beuchelt will manage a global team of IT, security, and compliance experts. His responsibilities include overseeing the corporate IT infrastructure, which encompasses help desk operations, server, and network management. Furthermore, he will contribute to the cybersecurity community via new research, reports, and threat intelligence development conducted by the Acronis Threat Research Unit (TRU).

Gerald Beuchelt joins Acronis with over ten years of leadership experience in cybersecurity. Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at Sprinklr. His career also includes roles at LogMeIn, and he has been a Chief Security Officer at Demandware, Inc., now acquired by Salesforce. Additionally, Beuchelt has been involved with the Boston Chapter of Infragard and the National Cyber Security Alliance, bringing significant expertise to his role.
