Acronis True Image 2026 launches with built-in patch management

Tue, 7th Oct 2025

Acronis has announced the general availability of Acronis True Image 2026 for home users, unveiling built-in patch management and an upgraded security engine.

The new release delivers a natively integrated backup and security solution, bringing together features such as AI-based threat detection, anti-ransomware, malware scanning, and identity protection.*

Integrated protection

Acronis True Image 2026 aims to simplify cybersecurity and data protection for consumers, providing coverage for up to five computers and unlimited mobile devices through a streamlined application. The software is designed to address rising demands for enhanced cyber protection as threats such as ransomware and identity theft grow increasingly prominent.

The introduction of built-in patch management for Windows distinguishes Acronis True Image 2026 from other consumer products. The feature allows Windows users to choose between fully automated updates, which apply patches in the background, and manual alerts to install third-party patches. Both options are intended to address emerging vulnerabilities efficiently.

Further strengthening security, the solution employs advanced detection technology to defend against a variety of attack vectors, including DLL hijacking, root code execution, and API key exploits. Acronis's cybersecurity engine provides continuous protection and keeps all devices up to date against current threats. The software also maintains compatibility with the latest Windows and macOS versions, supporting a range of hardware and operating system environments.

Market context

With increasingly sophisticated cyberthreats facing home users, Acronis sees the integration of backup, security, and patch management in a single product as a practical response to consumer needs. The company highlights that managing multiple standalone solutions can be costly and complex for non-technical users.

"Acronis True Image 2026 is built for those who don't have time to worry about their digital safety," said Gaidar Magdanurov, President at Acronis. "Most people don't want to think about backups and security - they just want to know they're safe. With True Image 2026, we've made protection automatic. And instead of paying for two separate applications and managing multiple subscriptions, users can rely on a single tool that saves them up to 55% in costs on average."

Acronis emphasises the significance of patch management in the broader context of cyber defence. Keeping operating systems and software up to date is widely recognised as a fundamental aspect of reducing vulnerabilities and helping to protect against new forms of attack. By embedding patch management directly into its consumer product, Acronis seeks to streamline the update process and provide proactive security for a range of users.

Expanded features

The company notes that Acronis True Image 2026 retains previously established features such as fast recovery, secure disk cloning, and AI-based ransomware and malware protection. The software is designed for ease of use, enabling backup, recovery, and cyber defence from a single interface.

Future releases are expected to build upon these capabilities by introducing additional security enhancements, signalling an ongoing commitment to tracking and responding to the evolution of cyberthreats. Acronis offers the latest release in three subscription tiers: Essentials, Advanced, and Premium.

*Identity protection is currently available only in the United States for users subscribed to the Advanced and Premium plans.
