Arlo unveils Ultra 3 4K AI camera with early alerts

Wed, 21st Jan 2026

Arlo has launched the Ultra 3, a new flagship home security camera that the company says works with its Arlo Secure Early Warning System and uses 4K video and AI-based detection.

Arlo positions the device as part of its wider Arlo Secure platform. The company describes that platform as a service-based approach that combines hardware and subscriptions. The Early Warning System forms part of Arlo Secure Plus, which Arlo sells separately.

The Ultra 3 records in 4K HDR. Arlo says this provides greater detail than HD video. The camera also offers a 180-degree field of view and colour night vision.

Detection Features

Arlo says the Ultra 3 can recognise people, vehicles, animals, packages and fire. The company also highlights custom detection. It says users can train the camera on events they want it to prioritise.

The device includes a built-in spotlight and siren. Arlo says users can control these functions through the Arlo app. The app also provides two-way audio for speaking with visitors.

Arlo says users can also notify a trusted contact through the app. The company frames these tools as actions that customers can take as events unfold rather than after reviewing footage.

"With Ultra 3, we're taking the next step in redefining security," said Adrienne Sharkey-Perves, Managing Director, Arlo Europe. "Our Early Warning System gives users something no other brand can: a DIY home security camera system with smarter AI that learns, adapts, and acts faster- all backed by European privacy and cloud protection."

Connectivity And Hub

Arlo has built the Ultra 3 for use with the Arlo SmartHub. The company says the hub manages 4K streaming and extends range. It also provides options for local video backup.

The Ultra 3 supports dual-band Wi‑Fi. Arlo links that to consistent connections in typical home network conditions. The company also markets the combination of hub connectivity and local storage as part of its security and privacy approach.

Arlo says it hosts cloud services in Europe and runs monitored servers around the clock. The company describes this as a privacy and protection measure for customers who use cloud storage and related services.

Outdoor Use

Arlo says the Ultra 3 has weather resistance designed for outdoor monitoring. The company highlights use cases such as driveways, gardens and larger open areas. The 180-degree field of view forms part of that pitch, with Arlo saying users may need fewer cameras to cover the same space.

The company also points to colour night vision as a feature for outdoor footage in low light. The spotlight can add illumination in darkness. The siren provides an audible alert.

Pricing And Channels

Arlo has set a recommended retail price from GBP £529.99 and EUR €599.99 for a two-camera kit. The company said it has started sales through Arlo.com, Amazon and major retailers across Europe.

Arlo describes itself as part of Verisure. It says it takes a "service-first approach" that combines hardware devices with Arlo Secure plans. The company sells a range that includes cameras and video doorbells, alongside subscription services that add detection and cloud features.

The Ultra 3 release places emphasis on the role of AI-driven detection and mobile notifications in Arlo's product and service strategy. Arlo says the new model expands that approach through what it calls early warning, with users choosing which events to prioritise and which actions to trigger through the app.
