AvePoint boosts Elements Platform with security & efficiency tools

Yesterday

AvePoint has introduced new features to its Elements Platform aimed at enhancing security and operational efficiency for managed service providers (MSPs).

The latest updates to the AvePoint Elements Platform are designed to help MSPs improve their data security offerings, optimise IT management, and deliver cost-effective services to clients on a larger scale.

Platform capabilities

The new features are intended to create operational efficiencies and promote profitability for MSP partners by offering tighter integration with marketplace distributors, deeper insights into user risks, and improved management of licences and storage resources.

Key capabilities now available include marketplace integration, risk user insight, licence optimisation, and storage optimisation, all accessible via the Elements dashboard. This approach intends to simplify and centralise the management of client environments, reducing administrative overhead for MSPs and minimising the scope for human error.

Coby Liang, Head of EMEA at AvePoint, explained the alignment of these features with the company's mission. "These new features align perfectly with our mission for the Elements Platform: streamlining IT management, enhancing data security, and providing optimization services at scale. By helping our partners identify areas to offer value-added services, we're supporting them in their transition from traditional reselling to comprehensive managed services, ultimately improving their margins and strengthening their client relationships."

Marketplace integration

The new marketplace integration addresses challenges related to the management of licences across multiple vendor portals. MSPs can now purchase, track, and manage all client licences directly through the Elements dashboard, replacing the need to operate across multiple systems and reducing the likelihood of billing errors or missed renewals. This unified licencing experience is expected to improve efficiency and provide consistency in client interactions.

Risk user insight

In response to heightened risks from insider threats and suspicious behaviours, the Elements Platform now delivers a comprehensive monitoring feature. The risk user insight tool continuously scans network, endpoint, configuration, and identity access activities. With customisable rules, MSPs can pre-emptively identify potential risks, allowing proactive management of security incidents before they escalate. This feature enables MSPs to offer advanced security monitoring as a premium service to their clients.

Licence and storage management

Licence optimisation helps MSPs detect unused or inactive accounts within client environments. These can then be reallocated automatically, reducing waste and allowing MSPs to act as advisory partners focused on client cost savings. Meanwhile, the storage optimisation feature lets partners manage compliance-related archiving jobs for multiple customers in parallel, with options for end-user self-restoration and compliance rule customisation according to industry standards.

Chris Shaw, Head of Channel at AvePoint UK, highlighted the demands facing MSPs and the market potential. "With nearly a third of small and midsized businesses (SMBs) falling victim to cyberattacks and 81% of SMBs believing AI is increasing the need for additional security controls, MSPs are in the midst of a tremendous market opportunity to take advantage of a rapidly growing market for Managed Security Services. The AvePoint Elements Platform makes it easy to scale deployments and follow through on the desire to standardize their support with one vendor – a goal of nearly three quarters of MSPs today. Automation and simplification are key drivers for us in the security space and we're actively working with our partner community to show them the power of these new tools."

Research cited by AvePoint notes that 47% of MSPs are overwhelmed by the volume of security data they handle, emphasising the importance of automation and simplification in managing compliance and archiving tasks without excessive manual effort.

Strategic direction

Scott Sacket, Senior Vice President of Partner Strategy at AvePoint, stated, "In today's market, MSPs must balance robust security measures with resource optimization and operational efficiency. These new features demonstrate the evolution of AvePoint Elements to empower MSPs to navigate challenges with confidence and create sustainable competitive advantage in today's rapidly changing business landscape."

The new feature release expands on AvePoint's ongoing investments in its channel business during 2025, including the acquisition of Ydentic and previous updates to the Elements platform, as well as further enhancements in security and management capabilities.
