Capslock launches Deploy to address UK cyber skills gap

Yesterday

CAPSLOCK has announced the launch of a new service named "Deploy" aimed at addressing the shortage of cyber security professionals in UK organisations.

According to a report from ICS2, 67% of organisations are expected to experience a staffing shortage in 2024, with skills gaps being a major challenge for professionals. Deploy seeks to alleviate this issue by offering public and private sector organisations access to certified cyber talent on demand.

The service allows organisations to hire professionals who have completed the CAPSLOCK course on a contractual basis for a minimum of 12 months. These contractors cover a range of roles from entry-level to senior positions, including governance, risk and compliance, vulnerability management, cloud security, SOC analysts, and threat intelligence.

Dr. Andrea Cullen, CEO and Co-Founder of CAPSLOCK, stated, "Whether they're struggling to hire technical talent, need temporary project support or if they can't secure sign-off for additional headcount, Deploy offers a talent lifeline for private and public sector organisations needing to plug technical cyber skills gaps quickly."

Dr. Cullen further added, "Not only does this mean they can contract talent efficiently to reduce the burden on the existing workforce, but they will also benefit from working with diverse talent since anyone, from any background, can work with us to reskill in cyber. And ultimately, professionals with diverse backgrounds and experiences lead to more novel and interesting solutions to cyber threats, a more balanced workforce and a larger talent pool to hire from."

The Deploy service is designed to mitigate the costs associated with permanent hiring such as recruitment fees, national insurance, pension, and holiday pay. CAPSLOCK collaborates with organisations to assess their cyber needs before presenting shortlisted candidates, arranging interviews, and assisting throughout the hiring process. An account manager from CAPSLOCK supports the ongoing engagement and can offer additional mentoring if required. Organisations have the option to make a permanent offer to the contractor after the initial 12-month period.

CAPSLOCK's service offerings, which include Deploy and its Reskill programme, have expanded to include its presence on the G-Cloud 14 Framework under "Cloud Support" suppliers, enhancing the accessibility of their services.

CAPSLOCK continues to support independent learners and companies like BT, BAE Systems, and Capgemini in developing cyber skills. Available courses include a full-time 16-week or part-time 26-week option to retrain internal talent.
