Cloudflare & Booz Allen unite to bolster cyber attack response
Wed, 10th Apr 2024

Cloudflare, a global player in cloud connectivity, has joined forces with Booz Allen Hamilton, a strategy and technology consulting firm, to enhance incident response capabilities for enterprises under a cyber-attack. The collaboration introduces an innovative service, 'Under Attack as a Service' (UAaaS), entailing a novel 30-day Rapid Response DDoS Mitigation programme.

In modern times, marked by an unprecedented surge in the frequency and severity of cyber-attacks, the need for sturdy, responsive cybersecurity measures is more acute than ever. Last year alone, Cloudflare mitigated the largest recorded DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attack. This partnership affords Andrew Booz Allen's global commercial clients direct access to Cloudflare's advanced incident response and DDoS mitigation solutions. This ensures that efficient defence mechanisms are in place for these businesses during critical times of need.

As part of the collaboration, enterprises facing cyber-attacks are given expedited access to UAaaS, featuring the 30-Day Rapid Response DDoS Mitigation. This entails continuous monitoring and protection. Now, Booz Allen clients who may fall victim to cyber-attacks have a fast route to support when they need it most.

Technical attacks such as DDoS and ransomware can burden Internet properties or corporate networks with excess traffic, leading to disruptions in operations. Cloudflare, recognised for being capable of stopping the most significant cyber-attacks globally, has announced that it stands ready alongside Booz Allen to assist organisations with immediate protection during urgent times.

Mark Anderson, President of Revenue at Cloudflare, stated, "across the commercial sector, we are seeing attacks increase as threat vectors expand," highlighting the necessity for their services.

In an interconnected environment, organisations across all sectors face an increasing threat of attacks that can cause outages and disrupt operations. To mitigate this, Booz Allen's clients that may be under attack will connect to Cloudflare for quick mitigation and continued protection.

Brendan Rooney, Senior Vice President of Global Commercial Incident Response at Booz Allen, voiced that "the escalating threat of distributed denial-of-service attacks requires an expedited and effective mitigation solution."

The global enterprise benefiting from this partnership can enjoy several advantages. Cloudflare's globally distributed data centres absorb and neutralise attacks, while Booz Allen's Incident Response team collaborates closely with Cloudflare's Under Attack Threat Advisory Solution Engineer teams to counter attacks.

The Cloudflare network continuously analyses traffic patterns and identifies potential attacks, stepping in before any disruption during a client's 30-day Incident Response period. This initiative culminates in Cloudflare conducting a full cybersecurity evaluation and proposing solutions for future proactive defences.
