Commvault & CrowdStrike unite to enhance cyber resilience services

Today

Commvault has announced an expanded partnership with CrowdStrike to offer a comprehensive set of services for incident response, cyber recovery, and resilience.

The collaboration brings together incident response capabilities from CrowdStrike and data recovery expertise from Commvault, aiming to help organisations recover more quickly and strengthen their preparedness in the face of cyberattacks.

The two companies will deliver coordinated services intended to help joint customers improve their readiness, respond more effectively, and achieve cleaner recoveries following an incident.

According to industry data cited by the companies, ransomware attacks are occurring every 14 seconds, while the average recovery period following such an incident spans 24 days. This frequency and the prolonged recovery times have prompted IT and security teams to seek out vendors offering integrated services.

Alan Atkinson, Chief Partner Officer at Commvault, said, "Today's threat landscape demands more than just security – it requires resilience. Our expanded partnership with CrowdStrike brings together exceptional incident response capabilities from CrowdStrike and leading data recovery and resilience solutions from Commvault to help joint customers identify and quickly address cyber incidents and recover swiftly and effectively."

Daniel Bernard, Chief Business Officer at CrowdStrike, added, "Cyber resilience isn't just about recovery, it's about being ready at every stage of an attack. Our expanded partnership with Commvault brings together industry-leading threat intelligence, incident response expertise, and robust recovery capabilities to help organizations identify risks faster, recover smarter, and strengthen their overall security posture. In an AI-accelerated world of relentless and sophisticated threats, security and IT teams need to operate as one, and this collaboration helps make that possible."

The partnership will deliver a unified suite of services that includes CrowdStrike's incident response services alongside Commvault's Guardian retainer-based offerings. These services encompass readiness assessments, recovery validation, recovery testing, and incident response recovery assistance.

Customers have access to features such as real-time threat visibility—provided by CrowdStrike—to pinpoint the scope of an attack, and Commvault's recovery solutions, which enable a rapid restoration process. This integrated approach is designed to streamline incident response workflows and reduce disruption during a cyber crisis.

The companies will also provide jointly conducted cyber resilience maturity assessments and advanced readiness exercises, including recovery testing with Cleanroom Recovery, to further enhance cyber resilience measures.

The expanded collaboration introduces integrated response workflows between the two firms, enabling faster communication and cooperation during incidents, which can accelerate the resolution time for affected customers.

The services are structured to offer tailored support, with Commvault's incident response recovery being delivered as a scalable, subscription-based solution to address the varied resilience requirements of different organisations.

Customers also benefit from the combined expertise offered by both Commvault and CrowdStrike, with direct guidance and support from professionals specialising in cybersecurity and data recovery.

This collaboration builds upon existing integration between Commvault Cloud and the CrowdStrike Falcon cybersecurity platform, which leverages AI technologies to help organisations identify malicious activity, perform targeted scans, and restore compromised data to a known-good state.

The suite of unified services, which focuses on advancing incident response, recovery, and enduring resilience, is available immediately to customers.
