Ecommpay appoints Roy Blokker to lead European sales push
Inclusive global payments platform Ecommpay has announced the appointment of Roy Blokker as head of Strategic Sales, as the company seeks to deepen its presence across the European market.
Blokker, a payments industry expert with more than a decade of experience, will be tasked with developing strategic partnerships with tier one e-commerce and FinTech brands. His focus will be on working with large, complex, and globally focused merchants to create bespoke solutions that enhance payment performance.
The appointment comes as Ecommpay continues to evolve its commercial approach, following a major rebrand and repositioning in September 2024. The move is intended to align its leadership structure with its long-term growth ambitions.
"Following the rebrand and repositioning of the Ecommpay business in September 2024, the appointment of Roy Blokker to lead strategic relationships will further strengthen the Ecommpay proposition," said Arthur Gots, Chief Operating Officer at Ecommpay.
"We have a clear ambition to deliver payment solutions to top tier e-commerce and FinTech brands and Roy's wealth of payments experience will be invaluable in building these collaborative partnerships," Gots added.
Blokker's remit will include shaping tailored strategies that help clients scale their operations, manage payment acceptance costs more effectively, and ultimately drive profitability. His work will also involve close alignment with Ecommpay's leadership to support large merchants and guide the company's broader commercial approach.
"I'm excited to join Ecommpay at this pivotal stage of its growth," said Blokker. "With the support of the European board, I'm confident in delivering tailored payment solutions that help e-commerce brands scale, optimise payment acceptance costs, and drive profitability, transforming payments into a strategic growth driver."
Blokker brings 15 years of commercial experience to the role, including over ten years in the payments sector. He spent more than eight years at Worldline, where he held several strategic global sales and leadership positions. His expertise spans localising payment strategies, leveraging payment orchestration, and supporting international expansion.
The appointment underscores Ecommpay's strategy of positioning itself as a full-service partner, rather than a traditional payments provider. The company offers a unified platform that integrates acquiring, over 100 payment methods, and payment processing and orchestration, all accessible through a single API.
