Extreme Platform ONE launches with integrated AI for networks

Yesterday

Extreme Networks has announced that Extreme Platform ONE is now generally available, offering integrated artificial intelligence capabilities across the networking experience.

The company says it is the first networking vendor to deliver conversational, multimodal, and agentic AI fully integrated within its platform. According to Extreme Networks, customers can gain benefits including broad network visualisation, a reduction in manual network tasks by up to 90%, shortened resolution times by up to 98%, and a simplified approach to licensing. More than 265 customers have already adopted the platform during its early stages.

Extreme Platform ONE is built to address rising complexity in IT environments by providing tools for simpler network management. The platform incorporates AI-driven insights and automation, with real-time response capabilities to events such as bandwidth surges and security incidents. Network administrators are able to set parameters around policy, risk, and approvals while the AI agents operate autonomously to optimise for performance and reliability.

Describing the impact of the release, Ed Meyercord, President and Chief Executive Officer at Extreme Networks, said:

"Extreme has ushered in a new era of networking, where complexity is no longer the cost of progress. Extreme Platform ONE eliminates mundane, repetitive tasks that have long burdened network teams and helps customers move faster and smarter. Extreme is the first to deliver AI agents purpose-built for networking; they learn, adapt, and act with intent. It's like having a built-in network engineer, always on and always optimising, freeing up the time of your IT team to focus on more innovative and critical tasks."

The company reports that among the main features of Extreme Platform ONE are an end-to-end visual experience with real-time network topology and lifecycle data, compliance support, and improved onboarding processes. The unified dashboard allows administrators to manage licences, contracts, assets, renewals, and device inventory from a single location covering multiple sites and product lines.

Nabil Bukhari, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Extreme Networks, commented further on the platform's approach:

"With Extreme Platform ONE, we're not just raising the bar; we're setting a whole new standard of excellence and simplicity in networking. Extreme is the first vendor to fully integrate AI across the entire network, with complete visibility, control, and governance. With AI that's built in, not bolted on, we're redefining what is possible and turning hours of work into minutes, helping customers simplify operations, boost performance, and get more value, faster."

Customer feedback has also reflected the platform's operational impact, according to Extreme Networks. Andrew Smith, Head of Digital Service Delivery at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, said:

"Extreme Platform ONE gives me a helicopter view of what's going on with our complicated network. We love the integrated AI because it means our team can focus on the things that need to be prioritised. AI agents can spot abnormalities and work faster than humans, and in a more robust way. It's like it just makes the magic happen."

According to Smith, the trust migrated to Extreme Platform ONE in under one hour, suggesting the implementation process may be straightforward for similar institutions.

Industry analysis has also recognised the platform. The Enterprise Strategy Group commented on the completeness and sophistication of the solution, with Jim Frey stating, "The Extreme Platform ONE solution is at the leading edge of the market in terms of completeness and sophistication of AI for networking, and Extreme Network Fabric is getting five-star reviews for simplicity and resilience."

Analysts at IDC, including Len Padilla, Brandon Butler, Mark Leary, Rohit Mehra, and Bruno Teyton, added, "Platform ONE represents a significant step forward in the platform era of enterprise networking, offering a unified solution that simplifies network management and enhances operational efficiency."

Extreme Platform ONE is now available to organisations seeking comprehensive network management solutions with integrated AI functionality. The company underscores that the platform unifies network operations and reduces the workload for IT teams by automating tasks and providing an extensive overview of the infrastructure.
