Hyland enhances Content Innovation Cloud with new AI tools

Yesterday

Hyland has announced major updates to its Content Innovation Cloud, introducing AI enhancements geared towards better management of unstructured data.

These updates aim to address the challenges enterprises face in managing unstructured data by enabling faster data extraction, automation of workflows, and improved decision-making.

Key updates include the launch of an AI-powered interface for Hyland Automate, which constructs process workflows through simple prompts, as well as integration of natural language queries and retrieval-augmented generation in Knowledge Discovery.

Leonard Kim, Chief Product Officer at Hyland, stated, "We continue to deliver on the unified Content Innovation Cloud roadmap and meet evolving customer needs by extending the value of their Hyland solutions."

"Our latest product enhancements also support the importance of content intelligence and AI agents in content services – equipping organisations to better access and act on the insights hidden in their enterprise content, enhance data extraction and intelligently automate critical business processes."

Hyland Knowledge Discovery, a feature of Hyland Content Intelligence, is designed to provide businesses with actionable insights via natural language queries. By leveraging AI agents and retrieval-augmented generation, it streamlines complex searches and refines outputs using metadata fields and dynamic filters.

Users can verify AI-generated content by checking source documents or other repositories, ensuring transparency and reliability.

Hyland Automate's new capabilities include an AI-powered chat interface that converts natural language prompts into automation workflows and a new connector for OpenAI. Additionally, new integration with Microsoft email simplifies the automation of email-based tasks.

The updates to Hyland OnBase and Alfresco make significant enhancements to enterprise content solutions.

OnBase Foundation 25.1 offers AI-driven insights, scalable app-building features, and improved workflows, which aim to streamline processes and improve operational flexibility. Alfresco 25.1 enhancements allow for content management from legal holds, an extended event parsing library, and the archiving or deletion of completed processes.

Further product updates include additional capabilities and configurable security controls for Hyland for Workday.

This approved Built on Workday application allows Workday HCM and Finance customers to capture and manage content directly from Workday screens.
