Intelliworx promotes Johnson to lead client operations in UK, US

Wed, 17th Jul 2024

Intelliworx has announced the promotion of Joy Johnson to lead the company's client services and operations functions across its UK and US offices. This strategic move is a response to the company's significant growth in 2024 and mid-market businesses' increasing emphasis on cybersecurity. The promotion follows other recent appointments within Intelliworx's senior leadership team.

In April, Intelliworx promoted Blake Jeffrey from General Manager of Security and IT to General Manager for Australia, marking the first time a cyber specialist oversees the entire Australian business. Additionally, Joshua Paulus was recently promoted to Head of Security and Identity in Australia.

As the Manager of Client Services and Operations, Johnson will report directly to Managing Director Shane Maher. Her primary responsibilities will include overseeing client interactions and managing the operational aspects of the business. Johnson will lead a team across both the UK and the US.

Johnson joined Intelliworx in 2021 as a cloud engineer based in Australia before moving to the company's London office where she served as the UK Cybersecurity Lead.

Commenting on Johnson's promotion, Maher stated: "Joy is one of our rising stars, no question about it. We've been blown away by her tenacity and are blessed by her willingness to embrace the challenge of working across multiple international markets after her days in the Sydney office. This is the kind of culture we're building at Intelliworx and we're thrilled that Joy is a part of it."

The promotion occurs against the backdrop of a growing cybersecurity market in the UK. According to Maher, "The UK is an important market for us. Cybersecurity spend continues to grow, with the UK government, for example, estimating that total annual cybersecurity sector revenue reached GBP £11.9 billion (AUD $22.7 billion) last financial year, up 13% on the previous year. This highlights the opportunity for cybersecurity providers which can build and maintain long-lasting partnerships with their clients."

Johnson expressed enthusiasm about her new role and the potential within the market. "Intelliworx is a decisive company and my career trajectory is a testament to that. I'm so thrilled to be leading such a critical offering of Intelliworx in such an important market that's full of opportunity. I'm really looking forward to working closer with Shane and the team as we take the best solutions to existing and future customers," she said.

Intelliworx, a provider of managed services and cloud solutions, has been focusing on bringing cloud, security, and Microsoft expertise to mid-market businesses worldwide. The company's services include consulting and support for Microsoft technologies such as M365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Copilot, as well as cybersecurity solutions like managed security operations centres and managed detection and response services.

Founded in Sydney, Australia in 2011, Intelliworx has established operations globally, including offices in London, Chicago, and Auckland. The company works with businesses across various sectors, including financial, legal, and professional services.
