IRONSCALES launches GPT-powered phishing simulation tool
IRONSCALES has announced the general availability of its new GPT-powered Phishing Simulation Testing solution.
The latest addition aims to bridge the gap between immediate training needs for cybersecurity teams and the challenges posed by limited time and resources.
The solution is now available to IRONSCALES Complete Protect customers. It promises to significantly advance cybersecurity training and awareness by leveraging generative AI to automate and optimise employee training. This new feature addresses a pressing need for improved training, as highlighted by Verizon's 2024 Data Breach Investigations Report. The report indicates that the median time for users to click on a phishing simulation link is just 21 seconds, and for submitting sensitive data to the simulated phishing site, the median time is 28 seconds. Additionally, human error contributes to over 68% of successful breaches, emphasising the need for more effective phishing simulations.
The new training tool utilises IRONSCALES' proprietary large language model, PhishLLM, which is trained on millions of data points crowdsourced from the company's extensive community of users. This technology enables the creation of highly personalised and socially engineered spear-phishing simulations on a vast scale and with unprecedented speed. It can generate up to 2,000 phishing email simulations in just one hour, significantly reducing preparation time. The solution also includes a variety of templates to enhance the realism of simulations, making it a more robust training tool for employees.
"The new GPT-powered training feature from IRONSCALES has completely revolutionised the way our team approaches cybersecurity training," said Elliot Franklin, Chief Information Security Officer at Fortitude Re. "Instead of a generic phishing email that is pretty easy to spot during a simulation test, my users were really challenged with this tool, which helps them to remain vigilant."
Franklin added that the tool provides extra confidence by identifying employees who are truly aware of the elements of a sophisticated phishing email. This includes recognising domain irregularities and hyperlinked text versus URLs, compared to users who might need additional training. He also appreciated the tool's seamless deployment, which saves his team valuable time while increasing employee knowledge and organisational awareness.
This feature is part of a series of GPT-powered innovations from IRONSCALES, building on the company's previous launch of Themis Copilot for Outlook in July 2023. Themis Copilot recently won the Silver Globee Award in the category of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Disruptors. Such advancements underline IRONSCALES' commitment to expanding its portfolio of generative AI capabilities, thereby maintaining its position at the forefront of enterprise email security.
IRONSCALES aims to address the pressing issue of human error in cyberattacks by continuously innovating its solutions. "The GA of our GPT-powered Phishing Simulation Testing solution is a testament to our dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions that empower organisations to stay ahead of the latest, most advanced cyber threats," said Eyal Benishti, CEO of IRONSCALES. "The human element still plays a role in the overwhelming majority of cyberattacks. As such, it's imperative that organisations use every tool at their disposal to enable employees to be security assets, rather than liabilities."
These tools, powered by adaptive AI, aim to help organisations stay ahead of the evolving threat landscape by reducing human error and increasing security awareness. As IRONSCALES continues to develop new solutions, the focus remains on enhancing cybersecurity through continuous innovation.
