ISACA renews ties with EU for cybersecurity workforce boost
ISACA has renewed its commitment to the European Commission's Cybersecurity Skills Academy, aiming to strengthen Europe's cybersecurity workforce.
The organisation's continued involvement emphasises academic partnerships, scholarships, and gender equality. Since joining the Cybersecurity Skills Academy in 2023, ISACA has actively engaged with 60 training organisations and worked alongside 30 European universities. This collaboration has equipped educators with essential knowledge to prepare future cybersecurity experts.
More than 1,200 students have benefited from complimentary ISACA memberships, allowing them to access various resources, certifications, and mentorship opportunities. The organisation has also orchestrated over 1,170 events, including 440 certification trainings, designed to empower professionals across Europe with vital cybersecurity skills.
The renewed pledge sets out three key pillars: enhanced academic collaboration to integrate cybersecurity skills into diverse curricula, scholarships to support the next generation of cybersecurity leaders, and initiatives to improve women's representation in cybersecurity, promoting diversity and inclusion throughout the industry.
Erik Prusch, CEO of ISACA, said, "ISACA's impact goes beyond the numbers—it's reflected in the educators trained, students inspired, and professionals who have built careers in cybersecurity. We are proud of the strides we've made, and we're excited for our next steps. As the digital landscape evolves, ISACA is committed to helping cybersecurity and digital trust professionals adapt and meet new challenges successfully."
Chris Dimitriadis, Chief Global Strategy Officer at ISACA, commented, "Our renewed commitment entails more than training and certification. It's about shaping a culture of cybersecurity and assurance, innovation, and resilience that Europe needs to thrive in an increasingly complex digital world."
The renewed commitment reinforces ISACA's role in supporting Europe's cybersecurity workforce through education, skills development, and increased diversity. By focusing on academic collaboration, scholarships, and gender inclusion, the organisation aims to address the growing demand for cybersecurity talent while fostering long-term resilience in the digital economy.
