Leaseweb launches cost-effective Public Cloud service
Leaseweb announced the launch of its Public Cloud service, aimed at providing a cost-effective and flexible alternative to traditional hyperscale cloud service providers. The service is designed to be approximately 30% cheaper than its counterparts, offering competitive pricing alongside performance and reliability.
The new Public Cloud service from Leaseweb features a transparent pricing model that seeks to eliminate hidden costs. This approach allows businesses to avoid upfront investments in software licenses or data centre infrastructure. Instead, organisations can benefit from an on-demand subscription model with options for hourly and monthly billing, without the need for long-term commitments.
The service is compatible with existing hyperscale platforms, making it a feasible option for businesses looking to deploy new workloads or migrate existing ones. Backed by the Leaseweb brand and its market-leading customer service, the solution is available globally across seven regions, designed to minimise latency.
Key attributes of the Leaseweb Public Cloud include no upfront investment requirements, a flexible pricing model, and no vendor lock-in. It boasts global availability across seven regions, robust data sovereignty features, a 99.99% availability SLA for all instances, and 24/7 support via phone and ticketing systems in multiple languages. It also offers advanced API automation and integration with other Leaseweb solutions and major hyperscalers.
Con Zwinkels, CEO of Leaseweb, commented, "Leaseweb Public Cloud has been designed in close consultation with customers who value the hyperscale concept but want an alternative with better price, performance, and flexibility. Our track record, leadership, and customer-first approach position us to make a significant, positive impact on the public cloud market."
Omer Karabacak, Head of Infrastructure at Sporttotal.tv GmbH, also shared his positive experience with Leaseweb: "The primary reason we chose Leaseweb was their balance between price and performance. Although there may be cheaper alternatives, it doesn't necessarily mean they are of good quality. Additionally, Leaseweb stands out in terms of its excellent customer support. No other company has provided us with a whole team of people who guide us every step of the way. Their consultative approach, partnership, and flexibility have been invaluable. Furthermore, we appreciate Leaseweb's ease of use. Whether it's during the purchase phase, navigating the Customer Portal, or accessing the Knowledge Base, the entire experience has been positive. We're looking forward to continuing our collaboration and are excited about what the future holds for us working together."
Leaseweb Public Cloud Instances are delivered as virtual servers that offer a variety of options for different types of workloads, including general purpose, compute optimised, and memory optimised. Each instance belongs to a specific vintage, determining compute power, storage, and network capabilities. Additionally, private network functionality is available for free, enabling customers to connect Public Cloud instances with dedicated servers. Storage options include network-attached central SSD storage with built-in redundancy or local NVMe with 15K IOPS performance and low latency.
The service also features a load balancer to ensure optimal performance and high availability by distributing customer requests efficiently. For automated deployments, customers can utilise autoscaling to match resources to demand, thus saving costs and ensuring optimal performance. A complimentary firewall is included to enhance security for all public cloud instances, offering an additional layer of protection against unauthorised traffic. Robust data protection features such as a free snapshot with every instance are also provided.
