Lucid unveils data residency programme for EMEA with AWS

Fri, 13th Sep 2024

Lucid Software has announced the launch of its global data residency programme for the EMEA region, which will be hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS). This move is aimed at addressing the data security and compliance needs of organisations operating within the region.

Roderick de Greef, VP of Sales in EMEA, remarked, "The launch of Lucid’s improved global data residency programme in EMEA reaffirms our dedication to supporting the unique needs of our local customers as they navigate local compliance standards. By providing a robust data residency solution, we enable organisations across the region to collaborate with peace of mind knowing their document data remains secure and within their region. Team collaboration should be both seamless and secure, and Lucid is committed to making that possible."

The new programme enables enterprise customers to control where their document data in the Lucid Suite is stored. This includes the ability to select specific regions to meet their data residence obligations and comply with regional data and compliance requirements. Lucid asserts that its full catalogue of integrations, developer platform, and external API work uniformly across all data regions, which should enhance product performance and reduce latency.

Lucid has been on a growing trajectory since expanding physically to Europe in 2018. The increased interest from customers in establishing a global data residency programme has prompted this latest initiative. The company believes that data locality has become a top priority for many organisations in the EMEA, with this launch potentially offering a path to faster innovation and meaningful collaboration while maintaining the highest standards of data security.

Lucid emphasises its commitment to data protection through various initiatives. These include its Enterprise Shield offering, alignment with GDPR and PCI requirements, and FedRAMP authorisation. The company also complies with the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Frameworks, holds ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications, and has completed SOC 2 Type II audits. These measures underline Lucid's focus on ensuring data security and privacy for its users.

The launch in EMEA follows a similar data residency programme that was introduced in Australia. This allows customers in the new region to benefit similarly from the data security and compliance advantages offered by Lucid’s services.

The introduction of Lucid Software's global data residency program for the EMEA region represents a strategic response to the growing emphasis on data security, privacy, and compliance across global markets. By allowing organisations to store data locally and meet regional regulatory requirements, the program provides a solution tailored to the specific needs of enterprise customers in the region.

The expansion builds on Lucid's continued efforts to align with international data protection standards. It leverages AWS infrastructure to offer secure, compliant, and efficient data management options for its users.
