Premier Sports Network partners with Alcatraz for stadium security

Fri, 12th Sep 2025

Premier Sports Network has formed a partnership with Alcatraz, a company specialising in facial biometric authentication for physical access, to broaden the application of biometric security in sports venues and stadiums worldwide.

The collaboration is designed to strengthen Premier Sports Network's (PSN) Venue Security and Operations Network, connecting security service providers, technology developers, and venue operators within the sports and entertainment sector. The partnership aims to ease the movement of players, staff, and guests while enhancing security across high-activity locations in stadiums and arenas.

Focus on stadium security

Alcatraz already serves many large arenas, providing solutions to help restrict access and improve safety. Its facial authentication technology, with an emphasis on privacy, is used to ensure that only authorised individuals gain access to sensitive areas such as locker rooms, training facilities, production zones, and luxury suites.

Through the PSN partnership, more venue operators will be able to adopt these systems. PSN's ecosystem is intended to give venue members access to emerging security expertise and intelligence, supporting the industry's ongoing efforts to address evolving risks and challenges.

Spencer Hidge, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Premier Sports Network, commented on the agreement:

"We are thrilled to welcome Alcatraz into our network. Their expertise in biometric technologies sets a new standard in venue and stadium security. Partnering with a company so deeply committed to innovation and operational efficiency significantly strengthens our Venue Security and Operations Network, elevating the safety of fans, staff, and athletes."

He added that the partnership aligns with PSN's goal of providing tools and knowledge to enhance the safety of all groups using sports and entertainment venues. The expansion of PSN's partner network aims to benefit venues, stadiums, and large events seeking to optimise operations while prioritising safety.

Biometric access control

Alcatraz positions its facial authentication platform as privacy-first, focusing on limiting entrance to authorised personnel and making event access more efficient. The solution is built to support operational flow, with technology to manage the high-traffic movement typical in sports and entertainment settings.

Tina D'Agostin, Chief Executive Officer of Alcatraz, said:

"Our partnership with Premier Sports Network offers venues a smarter, more reliable way to secure spaces. Facial authentication enables elite access for authorized players, VIP guests and staff to enter locker rooms, training facilities, production areas and luxury suites, helping stadiums and event operators move people safely and efficiently while reducing risk. With PSN's global reach, we can extend Alcatraz's privacy-first access control system to more venues worldwide, setting a new benchmark for security built on trust, privacy and ease."

Alcatraz's technology is used by large organisations in locations requiring stringent access control, such as data centres, financial institutions, corporate campuses, and other mission-critical environments. The solutions are designed to provide secure access while maintaining compliance and operational standards.

Industry reach

The partnership with PSN is expected to extend Alcatraz's reach, making biometric authentication more accessible across the sports and entertainment sector. The two companies intend to support venues in remaining compliant with security demands and adapting to changing threats, while also maintaining the efficiency required for large events.

PSN connects senior leaders across the business side of sport, including clubs, governing bodies, agencies, and service providers, through forums and networking opportunities. The combination of PSN's industry connections and Alcatraz's biometric access technology is positioned to support venue operators around the world in safeguarding players, staff, and guests during both sporting events and concerts.
