The UK government announced a new unified armed forces recruitment organisation with the objective to cut bureaucracy and improve the process of signing up to serve.
Pega has been appointed to provide the digital platform for the UK's Armed Forces Recruiting Service as part of Team Serco, awarded the prime contract for this initiative. Pega's platform will support the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force in creating a joint recruitment service, integrating customer service, workflow automation, and decision-making powered by GenAI.
Drawing from its established role in supplying digital recruiting platforms to the Royal Navy and the RAF, Pega will now extend these services to deliver an integrated solution covering all three service branches. This platform aims to simplify the recruitment journey starting from initial contact with candidates through to their enlistment and commencement of basic training. This overhaul is anticipated to enhance the candidate experience, boost assessment processes, and assist the Ministry of Defence's (MOD) strategic workforce aims across these armed services.
Pega will employ its GenAI Blueprint capabilities in developing this platform, using industry best practices to facilitate the rapid construction of new applications. This methodology will enable a swift rollout of recruitment functionalities, maintaining consistency across the services.
The Armed Forces Recruitment Service represents a collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and TEAM Serco, geared towards meeting the recruitment necessities of both regular and reserve forces, ensuring that each branch's workforce requirements are met efficiently.
"Pega delivering this strategically important digital capability for the UK's Armed Forces builds upon our established partnership with the UK Ministry of Defence," said Alan Trefler, Founder and CEO of Pega. "The Pega Platform will directly support the achievement of military recruiting targets across defence - a critical component of national security objectives. Our proven experience in this sector positions us to address the complex challenges of military recruitment, to meet the specific requirements of each service branch."
