Appdome partners with JetBrains TeamCity for secure app delivery boost

Mon, 6th Nov 2023
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Appdome has announced a new partnership with JetBrains TeamCity to advance the delivery of secure mobile applications under the Appdome Dev2Cyber Agility Partner Initiative.

Integrating the Cyber Defense Automation Platform from Appdome, an all-in-one solution for mobile app defence, with the CI/CD cloud-based service from JetBrains TeamCity, mobile development teams can now automate the build, test and deployment of their applications.

The newly integrated platforms aim to supercharge the delivery of secure mobile apps worldwide by providing automated methods of implementing cyber defence in Android and iOS applications. Traditional manual implementation processes were slow, complex, and fragile. The integrated platform solution streamlines the deployment process and accelerates release times.

Appdome's cyber defence automation platform brings substantial security measures to iOS and Android apps, including runtime application self-protection (RASP), code obfuscation, mobile data encryption, jailbreak detection, root detection, man-in-the-middle attack prevention, and on-device anti-malware, anti-fraud, anti-cheat, anti-bot protections.

This partnership enables technology platforms to automate the delivery of such cyber defence implementations in mobile apps, aligning with the speed and agility of modern DevOps pipelines.

Tom Tovar, Co-Creator and CEO of Appdome, emphasised the increasing consumer preference for mobile interactions, making it essential for development teams to create and update apps regularly to maintain their competitive edge.

Tom Tovar says: "Our recent global survey shows that consumers' preferred way to interact with brands is mobile, which increases the urgency for development teams to create and update apps frequently to remain competitive. They're working in an environment that is continuous, agile and fast-moving."

"Development teams need a cyber defence solution for mobile app development that takes advantage of and integrates with mobile development best practices and tooling. In this way, they can deliver the protections end-users desire in their iOS and Android apps, build by build and release by release."

The need for robust mobile app security is echoed by the results of Appdome's recent Global Consumer Expectations of Mobile App Security survey, which showed that 94% of global consumers would promote a brand if its mobile apps protected them against security, fraud, and malware risks. Notably, 68% of respondents would abandon brands that did not proactively offer any protections.

Karen Hsu, SVP of Mobile DevOps and Security Solutions, further iterated the integral role that JetBrains TeamCity plays as a development platform for mobile apps. She underlined the importance for developers to rapidly build security protections into their apps directly from the platform. The integration with JetBrains TeamCity consequently empowers mobile brands and their development teams to meet the growing security demands of mobile users.

Karen Hsu says: "JetBrains TeamCity is a key development platform for mobile apps, and developers using it need to be able to build security protections into their apps rapidly from within the platform."

"This integration with JetBrains TeamCity enables brands and their development teams to meet growing demands from mobile users for stronger protection."
