Data Privacy Week originates from the United States and Canada. The National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA), in January 2008, initiated the program to highlight the importance of data privacy. It's seen this year from January 22-26, extending the European Data Protection Day. The commemoration marks the signature of Convention 108 in 1981, an essential international accord on privacy and data protection.
