CybExer joins European effort to secure space technology
CybExer Technologies has been named a Key Technology Partner of the European Space Agency (ESA) as it collaborates to develop a new Space Cyber Range.
The project is part of the ARTES 4.0 program line, Space Systems for Safety and Security (4S), and involves a joint effort with partners Spaceit, CGI Estonia, Foundation CR14, and Tartu University. CybExer Technologies will contribute its expertise in cyber range platforms to create a sophisticated simulation environment for the ESA.
The advancement of the Space Cyber Range (SCR) addresses the increasing necessity for securing space-based systems amidst growing cyber threats. Satellites and other space assets play a critical role in global communication, navigation, and infrastructure, making their protection paramount.
The SCR is designed to offer a realistic, controlled environment for space operators and cybersecurity professionals to train and test technologies. Combining various capabilities into one integrated platform sets a new standard for cybersecurity readiness, allowing space organisations to safeguard emerging technologies and vital space systems.
Andrus Kivisaar, Chief Executive Officer of CybExer Technologies, highlighted the importance of the project: "This marks a major breakthrough in securing the future of space operations. With the increasing digitisation of space assets, cyber threats are no longer a theoretical risk - they are a real and immediate challenge. The Space Cyber Range ensures that we stay ahead of threats by providing an environment where space organisations can strengthen their cybersecurity defences with confidence."
The Space Cyber Range introduces a new approach to cybersecurity in space by simulating complex scenarios. It enables the safe testing of vulnerabilities by permitting the replication of satellite communications, ground control interactions, and potential cyberattacks without risking live systems.
CybExer Technologies will be fundamental in constructing the SCR's cybersecurity framework. With a presence in over 60 countries, the company has significant experience providing adaptable and scalable cyber training and testing solutions.
