Deadline for Digital Tech Awards entries extended to January

Yesterday

ScotlandIS has announced that it has extended the deadline for entering the Digital Technology Awards. Applicants can now submit their nominations until 14 January.

Now in its 15th year, the Digital Technology Awards seek to highlight the achievements of Scotland's tech sector. Originally scheduled to close on 9 January, the deadline has been extended, providing additional time for companies and individuals to enter their submissions.

Karen Meechan, Chief Executive Officer at ScotlandIS, commented on the high calibre of entries the awards typically receive. "There are some really impressive businesses and individuals driving the Scottish tech sector forward just now, and 2024 was a particularly strong year in that respect. We've got plenty to celebrate as an industry and the Digital Tech Awards is a great opportunity to shout about the amazing work that's going on up and down the country," she said.

This year's awards will introduce a new category recognising Outstanding IT Managed Service Providers. This marks a shift towards acknowledging the advances and impacts made by such providers in the fields of leadership, innovation, and customer service.

Meechan also highlighted the diverse range of nominations being received from all over Scotland. "The standard of entries we receive is extremely high, and this year looks set to be no different. It's been great to see nominations from a very diverse range of businesses and encouraging that different regions across Scotland represented. From Dalbeattie to Dingwall there are some wonderful success stories out there and we look forward to supporting more of them than ever in 2025," she added.

The 2025 Digital Technology Awards ceremony will be hosted on 20th March at the Radisson Blu hotel in Glasgow. An independent panel of experts will review the nominations to compile a shortlist of finalists.

Participants can enter various categories, including Tech for Good, Product Innovation, Service Innovation, Data Trailblazer, Cyber Excellence, Best Wellbeing at Work, Public Sector Innovation, and several others. The introduction of runner categories acknowledges the breadth of innovative work being done across the tech industry in Scotland.

As ScotlandIS marks 25 years since its formation, the organisation remains committed to supporting the digital technology industry in Scotland. With a contribution of about GBP £7.5 billion to Scotland's Gross Value Added (GVA), the tech sector continues to be a vital component of the country's economy.
