Exclusive Networks has become a distribution partner for Docker in the UK and Ireland, extending Docker's channel reach in both markets.

Under the partnership, Exclusive Networks will make Docker's container platform available through its partner network across the UK and Ireland. The arrangement is aimed at organisations seeking to modernise application environments built across local infrastructure, on-premises systems and cloud deployments.

Docker's software packages applications and their dependencies into portable units, allowing development teams to run them in consistent environments. The product line also includes Docker Hardened Images, pre-validated container images designed for teams seeking a more secure starting point for containerised applications.

The addition brings Docker into Exclusive Networks' UK and Ireland portfolio at a time when distributors and vendors are competing to capture demand for cloud-native software tools and related security products. It also gives Docker another route into resellers, service providers and other channel partners in a region where local support and enablement remain important to sales growth.

According to Exclusive Networks, the relationship builds on experience elsewhere in the group. Nuaware, part of the group, already distributes Docker technology across Asia-Pacific, North America and parts of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

That existing relationship appears to have provided a template for the UK and Ireland expansion. Docker will align go-to-market activity with Exclusive Networks and use the distributor's established channel ecosystem to broaden its regional presence.

Channel push

For partners, the offer is expected to include local expertise, enablement and services alongside access to the distributor's wider value-added distribution model. In practice, this means resellers and integrators can add Docker products to broader infrastructure, security and application modernisation projects.

Container technology has become a core part of software development and deployment because it allows teams to move workloads more easily between environments while maintaining consistency. That has made distributors with technical support teams and established partner communities a useful route to market for software vendors looking to expand beyond direct sales.

Exclusive Networks operates in more than 45 countries and serves customers in over 170, according to company information. Its business spans cybersecurity and networking products, along with services such as managed security, technical certification and training.

Docker has built its name around tools that help developers build, share and run applications. Its platform sits in a market that overlaps with application development, infrastructure management and software supply chain security, all areas where channel partners are increasingly assembling multi-vendor offerings for customers.

Neil Brosnan outlined the rationale for the deal from Exclusive Networks' perspective.

"With Docker, we are strengthening our UKI portfolio with a market-leading platform for modern application development, combined with a strong emphasis on secure container environments," said Neil Brosnan, Vendor Alliances Director, UKI, Exclusive Networks.

He added: "We're excited to bring Docker's capabilities to our UKI partners, enabling them to unlock new revenue streams while helping customers accelerate innovation and modernise their application environments with confidence."

Regional expansion

For Docker, the agreement provides access to a well-established channel base in the UK and Ireland.

"Exclusive Networks brings a highly established channel ecosystem and deep market expertise in the UK and Ireland," said Bogdan Sporea, Director of Channel & Partnerships EMEA & LATAM, Docker.

He added: "Through this partnership, we will accelerate adoption of Docker's platform across UKI, enabling organisations to build, secure and run modern applications faster and at scale."

Brosnan also linked the arrangement to the group's earlier work with Nuaware.

"This agreement builds on the success of Docker within the Exclusive Networks group, including our experience with Nuaware," said Brosnan.

He added: "By bringing Docker into our UKI business, we can more effectively support partners in capturing the growing demand for cloud-native and containerised solutions, while creating new opportunities for growth."
