Fran Rosch takes over as CEO of Imprivata from Gus Malezis
Tue, 12th Dec 2023

Imprivata, a leading digital identity establishment for mission-critical industries, has today announced a top-level leadership transition. After seven years at the helm, present CEO Gus Malezis, is stepping down from his role and trading it for a position as strategic advisor to the firm, effective from January 1, 2024. His successor has been unveiled as Fran Rosch.

For Imprivata, Gus's tenure is to be remembered as an era of significant achievements, marked by exemplary leadership, decision-making prowess and an unwavering commitment to employees and customers. As the one responsible for guiding Imprivata's direction towards success and security, Gus will be leaving a lasting legacy. The company is excited to support him in this new chapter and eagerly anticipates the valuable insights and expertise he will bring to the strategic planning of Imprivata as he takes on his new advisory role.

Fran Rosch is stepping into the CEO chair with a wealth of experience in cybersecurity and digital identity to his credit. He’s known for leading technology companies through periods of growth and software-as-a-service (SaaS) transformations. His recent leadership role in merging ForgeRock into the Ping stable under the Thoma Bravo family, and his subsequent successful IPO, underlines his capabilities. He has also served greatly in major cybersecurity companies including Symantec and Verisign.

Rosch expressed his eagerness as he begins this new tenure, stating, "I’m thrilled and honoured to join such a growth-minded company as Imprivata and take the reins from Gus. Imprivata is committed to its customers, helping them leverage Digital Identity to bring security and ease of use to industries that depend on invisible, quick security. I love the identity space and look forward to leading Imprivata through the next stage of growth."

Rosch will soon engage directly with Imprivata's customer base to gain a comprehensive understanding of their challenges. This interaction is expected to influence the direction for the next part of Imprivata's evolution. Imprivata has assured its customers that this transition of leadership will not affect the high standard of service and innovation they have always enjoyed. The company’s vision for digital identity remains unchanged, as does its unwavering devotion to customer value and success.

Andrew Almeida, Partner at Thoma Bravo, expressed his excitement about the leadership changes, stating, "On behalf of the Board, I wish to congratulate Gus on this new opportunity and would also like to extend our sincerest gratitude for the value creation he has driven as CEO. We look forward to continuing to work with Gus on the board and in future roles at Thoma Bravo. We are also delighted to welcome Fran in his new role and convey the confidence our Board has in Fran taking Imprivata to the next level of growth."
