Graylog unveils Security 6.0 for robust cyber threat detection

Wed, 8th May 2024

Graylog, a provider of Threat Detection and Incident Response (TDIR), has launched Graylog Security 6.0, a tool designed to combat persistent cyber threats. This latest advancement aims to alleviate complexity often associated with traditional Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms, according to the company.

Graylog Security 6.0 brings some new features to the table. It provides an enhanced threat detection capacity, afforded by a curated library of security content and threat intelligence derived from SOCPrime's expert labs. This aims to help businesses to stay ahead of emerging threats by receiving timely alerts on critical issues.

Graylog has also integrated API Security into the platform. This results in organisations gaining access to a toolkit for the identification and management of API risks. It delivers actionable advice and insights for effectively mitigating risks.

The updated platform offers a more streamlined workflow for security analysts, facilitated by an intuitive interface, personalised views, and fast-tracked investigations, Graylog states. Analysts also gain from recommended remediation steps, comprehensive security metrics, and a dynamic understanding of the extent and impact of threats.

Simultaneously, Graylog Security 6.0 represents a significant stride in minimising Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). By optimising data management and introducing customisable indexing profiles, businesses can significantly reduce data storage costs, freeing up resources for growth initiatives instead of solely addressing maintenance overheads.

"The elevated digital threats demand timely and effective response to prevent serious incidents such as data breaches and financial losses. With cybercrime damages in the U.S. anticipated to exceed $452 billion this year, organisations urgently require competent and affordable tools to bolster their defences," states Andy Grolnick, CEO of Graylog.

He adds, "With Graylog Security 6.0, we have extended our focus beyond just robust threat detection and response. We're dedicated to providing a comprehensive platform which not only strengthens enterprise-level security, but also minimises total costs, including personnel, infrastructure, and licensing. This combination ensures our customers can enjoy enhanced cyber-resilience without the high price tag typically associated with it."

Beyond offering superior threat detection and response, Graylog Security 6.0 promises to cut the cord on the issues that commonly plague users of legacy SIEM platforms, such as an overwhelming amount of alerts, the necessity to learn complex query languages, and generally slow search results.

As part of the introduction of Graylog Security 6.0, the company has also revealed a new brand identity reinforcing its development from an open-source and enterprise log management pioneer into a leader in comprehensive TDIR solutions. This rebranding reflects Graylog's commitment to innovation and a user-centric design ethos, establishing its wider mandate to protect organisations from a complete spectrum of digital threats.
