Logicalis has published its FY26 Responsible Business Report, recording further progress in emissions, workforce development and community investment.

Scope 1 and 2 emissions were 34% below the FY22 baseline and 26% lower than the previous year. Renewable electricity usage rose to 42% from 22% in FY25, and the group maintained carbon-neutral operations for a second consecutive year.

It also reported that 77% of suppliers by spend now have science-based targets. This supports its wider goals of having 85% of suppliers by spend aligned by FY28, reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50% by FY30, and reaching net-zero emissions across its value chain by FY50.

On the workforce side, 95% of employees were actively engaged in continuous learning following the rollout of its learning management system. Staff also achieved more than 7,150 technical certifications across cloud, data, artificial intelligence, networking and security.

Community investment also increased. Logicalis invested USD $352,000 in charitable initiatives and projects, up 51.7% year on year, and supported 19 community programmes focused on STEM education and diversity in technology.

The figures come as businesses face growing scrutiny over the environmental impact of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and data infrastructure. In its own research among chief information officers, 39% said they were extremely confident their organisations actively measure and manage the environmental impact of AI initiatives, while 41% said energy efficiency is prioritised in AI deployment.

Bob Bailkoski, Chief Executive Officer of Logicalis, said: "Responsible business is not separate from business success. It is how organisations build resilience in an increasingly complex world. Technology continues to create opportunities for growth and innovation, but the organisations best positioned to succeed are those that innovate responsibly, invest in their people, contribute positively to society and demonstrate environmental stewardship. Our FY26 results show meaningful progress against our climate commitments, alongside continued investment in our people and the communities we serve."

Logicalis first reached carbon-neutral operations across Scope 1 and 2 emissions in 2025. The latest results show it has maintained that position while continuing to cut absolute emissions.

Climate targets

Its environmental strategy remains aligned with targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. The company has linked cuts in operational emissions with greater use of renewable electricity and increased pressure on suppliers to set their own science-based goals.

Nick Zinzan, Head of ESG at Logicalis International and Datatec, said: "Responsible business is ultimately about creating long-term value. Our progress in FY26 demonstrates that sustainability can be both ambitious and practical when it is embedded into business strategy. By focusing on reducing emissions, increasing renewable energy adoption, engaging suppliers and investing in skills, we are building a stronger and more resilient business. At the same time, our continued investment in communities and inclusion is helping create positive outcomes for customers, colleagues, partners and society."

The supplier figure is likely to draw close attention because much of the technology sector's climate impact sits beyond direct operations. Procurement standards and supply-chain emissions reporting have become more important as companies try to support broader net-zero plans.

Zinzan said: "Achieving carbon-neutral operations was an important milestone, but it was never the end goal. Maintaining that position for a second year while continuing to reduce our absolute emissions shows why sustained action matters."

Skills focus

Training and staff development were another focus of the report. The completed rollout of the company's learning management system is intended to support employee training as demand for skills in AI, cloud and cyber security continues to grow.

Logicalis employs more than 7,000 people across 30 territories and serves more than 10,000 clients. It reports annualised revenue of USD $1.63 billion and operates in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Africa.

The business is part of Datatec, which is listed in Johannesburg and reports revenue of more than USD $3.6 billion. That wider group context gives added weight to the sustainability targets, particularly where procurement, reporting and workforce policies are set across international operations.

Zinzan said: "The next phase requires us to keep driving down the emissions within our own operations while working with our suppliers towards our wider value-chain commitments. Having 77% of suppliers by spend now committed to science-based targets is encouraging progress, but we know there is more to do as we work towards our FY28 and longer-term net-zero goals."
