Object First reports 600% growth in Q2 2024 bookings
Object First has reported significant growth in its second fiscal quarter of 2024, with bookings surging by 600% compared to the same period last year.
The company, known for its Ootbi (Out-of-the-Box-Immutability) ransomware-proof backup storage appliances designed for Veeam, attributes this robust growth to increased customer demand and multiple high-value deals.
"I'm thrilled to see strong growth across all dimensions of Object First's business as we build momentum with new products, an expanding network of partners and customers, and robust bookings," stated David Bennett, CEO of Object First. "Our unique approach of delivering the best storage for Veeam with a secure, simple, and powerful solution is resonating with organisations that need greater resilience from ransomware."
Demand for Object First's Ootbi appliances was notable in Q2 2024, with bookings for the 64TB and 128TB models increasing by 1,580% and 425% year-over-year, respectively. Additionally, the company completed several deals valued at over six figures during this period.
In June 2024, during the VeeamON event, Object First announced an increase in storage capacity, offering up to 192TB on a single Ootbi node. This enhancement allows up to 768TB of usable immutable backup storage per cluster, enabling customers to manage storage capacity more efficiently. The 192TB model joins the existing 64TB and 128TB appliances, and all are interoperable. The company also highlighted continuous integration with Veeam's 12.1.2 release, which supports even greater backup storage capacities beyond 3PB as part of a Veeam backup repository.
The company also saw a 300% year-over-year increase in transacting partners in Q2 2024, expanding its global ecosystem significantly. This expansion includes partnerships with Veeam Accredited Service Provider (VASP) WolfStrata in North America, and Bechtle, Cancom, and Gruppo 3C in EMEA. The company further deepened its network of distributors in the EMEA region with Ingram Micro in Germany, V-Valley in Italy, Asbis in Slovakia, and TD Synnex in France and the Czech Republic. This growth in partners and distributors has contributed to a rise of 480% in transacting end-users year-over-year.
The company's success has not gone unnoticed in the industry. In Q2 2024, CRN named Object First in the Storage 100 List 2024. Additionally, Meredith Frick and Kelly Wells from Object First were included in the CRN 2024 Women of the Channel List, highlighting their contribution to the field.
