Pathlock has formed a strategic partnership with mindsquare to expand access governance and governance, risk and compliance software in the DACH region, covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The partnership combines Pathlock's identity governance and GRC platform with mindsquare's SAP consulting business as companies in the region review systems ahead of changes in SAP support and broader moves to cloud-based software.

Under the agreement, mindsquare will add Pathlock's software to its portfolio and train consultants to deploy the products for customers. The aim is to give regional enterprises a more direct route to updating governance processes across SAP and other enterprise applications.

Many large organisations in German-speaking Europe run a mix of ERP systems, business applications, cloud services and older software. This has increased pressure on internal control frameworks, particularly as companies try to manage access rights consistently across different systems.

The deal also reflects a broader shift in the market for identity and compliance software. Vendors are increasingly trying to address not only employee access, but also service accounts and other non-human identities as more automated software tools are introduced into business processes.

Pathlock says its cloud platform combines identity governance, access risk analysis, elevated access management, application controls and continuous monitoring in one system. The product is aimed at customers running SAP, Oracle and Workday environments, although the agreement with mindsquare is focused on the consultancy's SAP customer base in the DACH market.

For mindsquare, the deal adds a new product set in an area where demand is being driven by ERP modernisation and compliance requirements. SAP customers in particular are assessing how control and access frameworks will work across on-premise systems, cloud software and newer AI-related tools.

Regional focus

mindsquare has an established consulting presence in the DACH region and specialises in SAP-related projects. That local footprint is likely to be central to Pathlock's efforts to build delivery capacity in one of Europe's largest SAP markets.

As part of the partnership, mindsquare consultants will be trained on Pathlock's products. This will allow the consultancy to implement the software directly for customers rather than act only as a sales channel.

One early reference point for the deal is previous work between the two companies on customer engagements. "Our successful work with Pathlock on customer engagements has already demonstrated the power of this collaboration. mindsquare's deep understanding of SAP environments and local customer needs, combined with Pathlock's innovative technology, delivers significant added value to DACH organizations navigating increasingly complex ERP environments," said Jonas Krüger, Head of SAP Security Consulting, mindsquare.

Governance pressure

Companies using SAP software are under pressure to reassess governance tools as application estates become more fragmented. A single business may now have legacy ERP modules, newer cloud applications and a growing number of automated workflows, all of which can create different access risks and audit demands.

This has helped drive demand for software that can monitor user permissions, identify conflicts in access rights and track activity across transactions rather than only at the application level. The issue is becoming more prominent as businesses adopt AI-based tools that may operate with system permissions or trigger actions across multiple applications.

Pathlock has been positioning itself around that broader governance challenge, including the management of human and non-human identities. The company argues that controls need to extend beyond traditional employee accounts as organisations deploy more autonomous software agents and integration tools.

For Pathlock, the partnership offers a route into a large regional customer base through an established SAP specialist. "Partnering with mindsquare is an important step toward scaling our business. The partnership creates additional delivery capacity in one of Europe's most important enterprise software markets, providing local customers with access to Pathlock technology, along with the implementation capabilities and SAP expertise of a trusted DACH services partner," said Damon Tompkins, Chief Executive Officer, Pathlock.
