Stibo Systems launches innovative Sustainability Data Cards
Stibo Systems has announced the introduction of its new Sustainability Data Cards, a cutting-edge sustainability data management capability that enables businesses to create comprehensive sustainability profiles. Hosted on the Stibo Systems Enterprise Platform (STEP), these data cards are designed to aid organisations in navigating the increasingly complex landscape of sustainability regulations and adapting to consumers' ever-changing demands.
The Sustainability Data Cards offer several benefits, including the creation of product, location, employee, and supplier profiles. By seamlessly integrating these capabilities, the platform drives efficiency, enhances decision-making, and fosters transparency and trust among stakeholders.
Neda Nia, Chief Product Officer at Stibo Systems, remarked on the necessity of such tools in the modern business environment. "There are a staggering number of sustainability regulations and assessments, some more defined than others, and they are always changing," she said. "Rising to meet these regulations is no longer an option or just nice to have—it's a business necessity, with sustainability reporting required alongside financial statements. With our sustainability data cards, customers across industries can track compliance effortlessly and stay ahead of the competition."
The Sustainability Data Cards introduce several key features. The platform offers highly customisable templates that allow businesses to craft criteria and assessments tailored to their specific organisational needs and reporting requirements. It also serves as a central repository for all sustainability master data, enabling easy aggregation and visualisation of data from various sources, including internal systems and third-party audits.
Additionally, the platform demonstrates impressive scalability and flexibility, adeptly adapting to changes in regulations and best practices. It separates sustainability data from core master data, optimising performance and increasing agility while accommodating new data points and evolving standards.
In terms of risk assessment, the data cards provide functionalities to identify and evaluate exposure to environmental, social, and governance risks, developing mitigation strategies based on data-driven insights. The platform also aligns sustainability efforts with global compliance frameworks such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. This structured approach ensures that data maps accurately to reporting standards, paving the way for the creation and publication of Digital Product Passports.
Collaboration and accountability are also enhanced, with the capability to foster teamwork across departments through assigned responsibilities for data updates and progress tracking. Moreover, the platform integrates seamlessly with third-party data providers like HowGood and Sphera, enriching and validating product and supplier information.
The Sustainability Data Cards cater to multiple use cases, facilitating tracking of product and supplier credentials for aspects such as ingredients, components, packaging hierarchies, waste and recycling management, and product origin.
Nia emphasised the new platform's broader impact: "We believe making sustainability data more visible to business users will empower them to make the right decision—good for business and good for the planet."
