Telefónica Tech unveils Netskope-based SSE for UK, Ireland

Wed, 28th Jan 2026

Telefónica Tech has launched a managed Security Service Edge (SSE) offering for customers across the UK and Ireland, leveraging technology from the specialist security firm Netskope.

The service is managed by Telefónica Tech UK&I and adopts Netskope's specific SSE framework. According to Telefónica Tech, the solution is designed for organisations operating with cloud-native or hybrid IT architectures, as well as those with significant remote access requirements.

Managed security

Telefónica Tech said it will deliver the service as a fully managed offering. It plans to combine Netskope One platform technologies with Telefónica Tech professional and managed services for implementation and ongoing operations.

Security Service Edge is a model that brings together security controls delivered from the cloud. It often includes secure access to applications, controls for web and cloud usage, and data security policies.

Netskope One combines security, networking and analytics services. Telefónica Tech said the platform applies zero trust principles and uses AI. It also includes controls focused on data protection and threat prevention across cloud services, web traffic and private applications.

Operations centres

Telefónica Tech said it will run the service from its Security Operation Centres. It said its teams hold Netskope certifications and will provide advice, administration, support and security incident response.

The company positioned the service as part of a broader cyber security portfolio and as a fit for modern work patterns. Telefónica Tech also said the managed model addresses operational burden for customers and provides coverage across multiple application environments.

Ed Tucker, Cyber Security Practise Director, Telefónica Tech UK&I, framed the launch as a response to local demand following deployments elsewhere.

"Telefónica Tech partners with Netskope around the world, and this latest managed service launch for UK and Ireland customers is testament to the appeal of the service in other markets, and the demand from local organisations. The Security Edge services enables us to assist customers by optimising their IT performance through frictionless collaboration; unlock the power of data; and ensure they put in place world-class cyber security solutions. By offering Netskope One as a managed service we are even better placed to help in all these goals," said Ed Tucker, Cyber Security Practise Director, Telefónica Tech UK&I.

Netskope partnership

Netskope said it sees demand in the UK and Ireland for modern data security and for security controls aligned with AI adoption. The company also described performance as a factor in platform selection for many organisations.

"Organisations across the UK and Ireland look to implement modern data security, advance their AI roadmaps and preserve the speed and performance essential to modern business operations. Working with Telefónica Tech UK&I to offer the Netskope One platform as a managed service, we are able to support British and and Irish businesses to avoid the traditional trade-offs between security and performance," said Colette Kitterhing, Vice President UKI, Netskope.

Telefónica Tech and Netskope already work together in other markets, according to the companies. The UK and Ireland launch expands that relationship into a managed service that Telefónica Tech will sell and operate for its local customer base.

Market signals

Netskope cited analyst recognition for its position in the Secure Access Service Edge and Secure Service Edge markets. The company said it was named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for SASE platforms and the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Secure Service Edge in 2025.

The announcement comes as many enterprises reassess network and security architectures around remote work, cloud adoption and use of software-as-a-service tools. Security teams also face growing use of generative AI services and new paths for data movement across corporate and consumer platforms.

Telefónica Tech said the managed service will sit alongside its existing work in cyber security, cloud and data projects for organisations in the region. Netskope said the partnership will offer the platform through a managed model for UK and Ireland customers.
