Tenable appoints Dino DiMarino to drive AI security growth

Fri, 13th Mar 2026

Tenable has appointed Dino DiMarino as Chief Revenue Officer, putting a long-time sales and go-to-market executive in charge of global revenue as the cybersecurity firm targets further growth in exposure management and AI-related security risk.

Based in Boston, DiMarino joins Tenable's leadership team and will lead worldwide sales, partner channels, and revenue operations. The remit includes commercial systems and partner relationships alongside direct sales, as vendors push for predictable renewals and expansion in a market shaped by fast-changing customer needs.

Cybersecurity buyers are increasingly focused on exposure management, which aims to identify and reduce weaknesses across technology estates. Many organisations also see AI adoption as a new driver of risk, with security teams under pressure to assess how AI services and data flows affect potential attack paths.

Tenable positions exposure management as a way to connect visibility and prioritisation across an organisation's attack surface. It has also highlighted "AI exposure management" as an opportunity, reflecting growing interest in how companies govern AI systems and secure the infrastructure and applications that support them.

The Chief Revenue Officer role typically translates product positioning into repeatable sales motions and aligns field sales, channel partners, and operational teams such as sales operations and enablement. In software and security markets, it can also include oversight of regional execution, customer expansion, and enterprise account planning.

Mark Thurmond, Tenable's co-CEO, said the hire is part of a broader growth push.

"Dino has a consistent track record for generating sustained momentum and scaling organisations to take advantage of emerging market opportunities," said Mark Thurmond, co-CEO of Tenable.

He said the company expects demand to rise among customers expanding AI-related exposure management.

"With Dino at the helm, we'll be able to expand our global footprint and accelerate pipeline growth with customers seeking to deepen their AI exposure management programs. We have ambitious goals, and Dino's leadership will be pivotal in driving aggressive expansion, scale and growth," Thurmond said.

Industry background

DiMarino has more than 20 years of experience in technology and cybersecurity leadership. He has held Chief Revenue Officer roles at Snyk, Qualys, and Mimecast, and served as chief executive officer of AppViewX.

Earlier, he held senior executive roles at RSA Security and Dell EMC, spanning security and broader infrastructure as cyber risk expands across traditional networks, cloud services, and newer application development models.

DiMarino said Tenable is positioned to help organisations manage AI-driven security challenges across a widening attack surface.

"Tenable is uniquely positioned to help organisations understand and reduce cyber risk in an era where AI is rapidly expanding the attack surface," said Dino DiMarino, Chief Revenue Officer of Tenable.
"I'm excited to join a team that is defining the future of exposure management and helping customers turn security insights into real risk reduction," DiMarino said.

Leadership change

DiMarino succeeds Dave Feringa, who has retired. Tenable did not indicate an interim period, suggesting a direct transition.

Senior commercial leadership changes have become more common across cybersecurity firms as they adapt to tighter procurement scrutiny and longer sales cycles. Many vendors are placing greater emphasis on channel performance and customer retention alongside new customer acquisition.

For Tenable, the appointment signals an effort to more closely link its exposure management message to enterprise buying priorities, including AI governance, cloud risk, and hardening critical systems.

DiMarino will oversee global sales teams and partner ecosystems as Tenable pursues international growth and deeper engagement with large organisations looking to formalise exposure management programmes alongside broader AI security initiatives.
