Tracey Pretorius joins CyberOne board to boost strategy

Yesterday

Tracey Pretorius, Senior Director of Threat Intelligence at Microsoft, has joined the Advisory Board of CyberOne, a provider of Managed Detection & Response (MDR) services.

Pretorius will undertake an advisory capacity, guiding CyberOne's executive team with strategic insight, particularly aimed at advancing its collaboration with Microsoft and the development of its Assure 365 offer. Assure 365 provides modular Managed Services for enterprises across identity, endpoints, data, infrastructure, and threat protection, allowing them the flexibility to adapt security coverage to their needs.

Dominic List, Chief Executive Officer of CyberOne, said, "We are delighted to welcome Tracey. Her global industry experience and expertise align perfectly with our vision of being a world leader in Microsoft-based MDR and will bring further improvements to being one step ahead of threat actors. Tracey's involvement reflects our continued commitment to advancing our cyber strategy, deepening our security culture and delivering on our mission to be best-in-class Managed Services."

List also highlighted Pretorius's background as co-founder of Microsoft's Women in Security (MWiS) initiative, noting the significance of her involvement in supporting diversity initiatives at CyberOne. He stated, "As the co-founder of Microsoft's Women in Security (MWiS) initiative, Tracey also brings a unique ability to guide the next generation of cyber talent—particularly women—while mentoring CyberOne's growing and diverse team, advancing our strategic direction and deepening our culture of resilience."

Pretorius, commenting on her appointment, said, "CyberOne is a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation at the forefront of Managed Security Services. I'm delighted to support their continued success and growth. Building a cyber-first culture is vital and CyberOne's commitment to the principles behind Microsoft's Secure Future Initiative provides a strong foundation for what comes next."

This addition to the Advisory Board comes during a period of continued momentum for CyberOne. The company holds Microsoft Solution Partner Designations in Security, Infrastructure (Azure), and Modern Work, and has earned advanced specialisations in Cloud Security and Threat Protection. CyberOne is accredited as an NCSC Assured Provider and is a Level 2 Accredited Cyber Incident Response organisation, maintaining CREST certifications in Penetration Testing, Security Operations Centre (SOC), and Cyber Incident Response.

CyberOne positions Pretorius's appointment as part of an ongoing strategy to enhance its profile as a cyber security partner, combining round-the-clock managed security with consulting and professional services recognised by industry bodies. The company aims to address the evolving threat landscape, offering services to help organisations reduce risk and deal with complex cyber threats while remaining compliant with regulatory requirements.

CyberOne has announced that its services will be showcased alongside Microsoft at Infosecurity Europe, taking place from 3–5 June 2025 at the ExCeL Centre in London. This participation is in line with CyberOne's stated objective to reinforce its Microsoft partnership and expand its influence within the managed security market.
