UK weighs down on cyber defences with new security initiative
Digital Catapult is set to bolster the nation's cyber defences with the inclusion of eight pioneering companies in the Digital Security by Design (DSbD) Technology Access Programme (TAP).
The initiative, developed in collaboration with the University of Cambridge and Arm, aims to significantly enhance the cybersecurity landscape across critical UK sectors, including gaming, defence, and automotive industries, along with introducing new strategies to heighten device security.
The selected companies in this programme will trial advanced cybersecurity solutions utilising the Arm Morello board, incorporating Capability Hardware Enhanced RISC Instructions (CHERI). This technology is anticipated to reinforce security infrastructure across several vital UK industries, serving as a major step towards reducing the susceptibility to cyber threats which have been identified as being as critical as financial and legal risks to businesses.
