Wed, 21st Jan 2026

Vincent Lomba, Chief Product Security Officer at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, has been appointed to the Advisory Group of ENISA, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity.

ENISA coordinates activities across the EU related to cyber threats. The agency works with member states on areas such as vulnerability management, incident response, and the implementation of EU rules and directives.

The Advisory Group includes 26 members drawn from public institutions, standards bodies, academia and private companies. ENISA uses the group to inform its strategic direction and its work programme.

Policy focus

The group will have a role in work connected to the NIS2 Directive and the Cyber Resilience Act. These initiatives sit at the centre of the EU's current push to align cybersecurity requirements across sectors and member states.

ENISA said the new Advisory Group will shape the agency's direction over the next two years. The agency also said the group will contribute to the priorities in ENISA's multi-annual work programme.

ENISA Executive Director Juhan Lepassaar commented on the new appointments.

"We warmly welcome the members of the new Advisory Group. We are eager to work with them and make use of their expertise to tackle the challenges ahead of us.», said Juhan Lepassaar, Executive Director, ENISA.

Industry input

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise said Lomba was selected from a pool of around 300 applicants. The company said he was chosen in a personal capacity.

ENISA's advisory structure gives the agency access to views from across technology suppliers and other stakeholders. The approach reflects the EU's emphasis on consistent practices across borders as cyber incidents affect essential services, supply chains and public administration systems.

Lomba linked his appointment to current EU policy priorities and the wider debate about digital sovereignty.

"I am honored to join ENISA's Advisory Group at a time when cybersecurity has become a cornerstone of Europe's digital sovereignty. I look forward to supporting the implementation of key initiatives such the Cyber Resilience Act, and helping reinforce a resilient, harmonized cybersecurity framework that effectively protects critical infrastructures, businesses and citizens across Europe", said Vincent Lomba, Chief Product Security Officer, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.
