Assured Data Protection names Gonzalez to wider role

Assured Data Protection has appointed Alvaro Gonzalez as Senior Vice President of product and go-to-market. The new global role combines product strategy, alliances and corporate marketing.
The post was created to bring those functions under one structure as the company expands internationally and seeks closer coordination across its market operations. Gonzalez will oversee product development and commercialisation across Assured's cyber resilience, disaster recovery and operational continuity services.
Assured, which provides managed services focused on data protection and recovery, said the change follows a period of growth in its global business. Customers are increasingly seeking managed services that combine data protection, cyber recovery and operational resilience.
The revised structure places product definition, strategic alliances, messaging and market execution under Gonzalez's leadership. The aim is to reduce separation between product strategy, partner engagement and marketing activity.
This approach is intended to strengthen links between the company's technology partnerships, product development cycle and channel ecosystem. Assured said tighter alignment has become more important as customer requirements grow more complex and organisations place greater emphasis on business continuity and recovery from cyber incidents.
Stacy Hayes, Chief Strategy Officer at Assured Data Protection, said the appointment reflects a need for stronger coordination as the company grows.
"Assured has reached a stage where greater coordination across product, alliances and go-to-market functions becomes critical to sustaining growth and scaling effectively," Hayes said.
"Alvaro brings a rare combination of product understanding, alliance expertise and go-to-market experience. Bringing these functions together under a single global leader creates greater alignment across the business and allows us to move faster, communicate more clearly and deliver more value to partners and customers," she added.
Broader remit
In the new position, Gonzalez takes responsibility for three areas often run separately in technology businesses: product strategy, alliances and corporate marketing. Assured said the consolidation is intended to support a more joined-up approach to market expansion and partner management.
The company operates globally and serves organisations across industries that depend on resilient IT operations. It said demand is rising for managed cyber resilience and operational recovery services as businesses face increasing pressure from cyber threats and operational disruption.
Gonzalez's remit includes aligning the company's service portfolio with customer requirements and its relationships with technology partners. That includes work across cyber recovery, clean recovery environments, operational resilience, disaster recovery as a service and infrastructure protection.
Before taking on the expanded leadership role, Gonzalez built experience across enterprise technology, cloud services, strategic alliances, channel ecosystems, product strategy and marketing, according to Assured. His background also includes sales engineering, channel development and alliance management across cloud, colocation, telecoms and managed services environments.
Growth focus
Assured described the appointment as part of a broader effort to improve coordination across its international operations and service portfolio. It has also been deepening relationships with strategic technology partners while expanding its managed recovery and resilience offerings.
For companies in the sector, the challenge is often not only developing new services but also presenting them consistently through direct sales, partner networks and marketing channels. Assured said the new structure is meant to create a clearer link between how services are designed, how partnerships are managed and how offerings are brought to market.
Gonzalez said the role is intended to address the complexity that comes with expansion.
