Boxphish secures new Leeds base to support doubling of staff
Boxphish has signed a long-term lease for new office space in Leeds, reaffirming its commitment to Yorkshire.
The human risk management platform, backed by growth capital investor BGF, has secured 4,165 sq. ft. of commercial space at Riverside House, on Canal Wharf. This new base is set to provide a modern and collaborative working environment that allows the company to double its headcount over the next several years.
The company has entered into a five-year lease agreement with landlord Bailie Group. This move comes after the business received investment from BGF last year, which was targeted at supporting growth plans and facilitating the expansion of Boxphish's operations.
Boxphish CEO Nick Deacon-Elliott spoke about the office relocation, stating:
"Our move to bigger city centre offices lays the perfect foundations for our continued growth. By signing a long-term lease, we are not only showing our commitment to the Yorkshire market, but also investing in the region by creating jobs over the medium to long-term, while attracting the best talent to Yorkshire. The new space gives us the capacity, environment, and energy to scale our operations and continue delivering cyber awareness solutions to our customers. It's an exciting milestone for the company and sets the tone for the coming years."
Boxphish's new office is situated within the Granary Wharf area, an established part of Leeds city centre adjacent to the canal. The location offers companies proximity to transport links and amenities, supporting both employee wellbeing and business connectivity, according to stakeholders.
Bailie Group CEO Fergus Bailie welcomed Boxphish to the new site, remarking:
"We're delighted to welcome Boxphish to our fantastic canal-side facility. As a fast-growing, innovative company, they're a perfect fit for the space and for the wider business community in Granary Wharf. The location offers the flexibility, connectivity and profile that ambitious companies like Boxphish need to thrive – and we're excited to support them on their next phase of growth."
Boxphish was established in 2020 by Nick Deacon-Elliott alongside co-founders Henry Doyle and Dan Bailey. Since then, the company has built a client base across multiple sectors, providing a suite of cybersecurity training, customisable phishing simulations, and data analytics services. Customers include North Yorkshire Council, University of Cambridge, and Leeds United FC, among others.
The platform's training content is designed for organisations of various sizes, aiming to increase cyber awareness among employees and mitigate potential risks from cyber threats. The analysis from the company indicates a significant reduction in the likelihood of breaches amongst users who undertake regular training, with data from over 400,000 users showing that those who are untrained are 8.8 times more likely to click on a phishing email compared to users receiving standard training.
The recent move enables Boxphish to position itself for further local recruitment and ongoing development of its cybersecurity offerings. The company intends to leverage the increased workspace to foster a collaborative atmosphere, as well as to provide capacity for its growing team.
BGF remains an active investor in Boxphish as the company continues on its trajectory within the UK's cyber security and human risk management sector.
