Check Point lauded as leader in attack surface management

Yesterday

Check Point Software Technologies has been recognised as a leading entity in Attack Surface Management (ASM) following its acquisition of Cyberint, as per the GigaOm Radar report.

Cyberint, now integrated as Check Point External Risk Management, offers a detailed overview of cybersecurity threats spanning the open, deep, and dark web. The combination of Cyberint's capabilities with Check Point's existing resources aims to provide enhanced threat intelligence and continuous risk monitoring.

An assessment by GigaOm Radar evaluated 29 of the top ASM solutions, where Cyberint was featured prominently in the Maturity/Platform Play quadrant. Chris Ray, an analyst at GigaOm, commented, "Cyberint achieved its Outperformer status thanks to its innovative approach to threat intelligence and robust integration capabilities. The company's continuous improvement of core features, along with an expanded scope of threat intelligence and more accurate alerts, positions it for significant market growth in the coming years."

Integration into Check Point's resources comes via the Check Point Infinity Platform. The External Risk Management solution leverages ongoing asset discovery and AI-powered prevention to provide real-time visibility and automated risk management. This integration is designed to complement Check Point's broader portfolio of cybersecurity solutions.

Yochai Corem, Vice President of External Risk Management at Check Point Software Technologies, expressed satisfaction with the recognition, saying, "We are proud to be recognised as a leader in this space. Our leadership shows how our customers can benefit from a comprehensive external view mapped to the threats related to their assets and the ability to simplify the remediation to those threats."

Analyst firm Gartner has projected that organisations focusing on continuous exposure management will significantly reduce breach risks by 2026, underpinning the apparent need for robust ASM tools.

Key features identified in GigaOm's assessment include augmented threat visibility, which entails ongoing scanning across all modern attack surface aspects such as IP addresses, domains, and the dark web, as well as proactive security validation. This involves passive attack surface discovery along with active exposure validation, allowing organisations to quickly address vulnerabilities.

Moreover, advanced threat intelligence powered by Check Point ThreatCloud AI provides a holistic view that facilitates rapid and effective threat detection response.

Check Point's initiative is positioned as a strategic response to the accelerating landscape of cyber threats, offering clients the tools needed to enhance their security posture and address vulnerabilities proactively.
