CloudCasa integrates with SUSE Rancher Prime for backups

Today

CloudCasa by Catalogic has announced an integration with SUSE Rancher Prime via a new extension.

This integration will allow users to install, manage, and monitor CloudCasa backups directly from the Rancher Prime user interface. It aims to enhance data protection and simplify backup management for enterprises using Kubernetes workloads in various environments, including on-premises, edge, and cloud.

The SUSE Rancher Prime Extensions provide users and partners with the options to extend and customise the Rancher user interface independently of Rancher releases. With the integration of CloudCasa, users can streamline the installation and configuration of CloudCasa agents on Kubernetes clusters managed by Rancher Prime. Backup and restore operations can be managed through an intuitive dashboard within the Rancher Prime interface, allowing users to monitor backups without switching platforms.

The integration is presented as a comprehensive solution for data protection, disaster recovery, and migration across all Kubernetes distributions. It supports unified backup and recovery management for Kubernetes clusters in hybrid, multi-cloud, and edge environments under a single management platform. Additionally, it facilitates seamless migration and recovery between different Kubernetes distributions, which aims to reduce downtime and operational complexity.

According to Ryan Kaw, Vice President of Global Sales at CloudCasa by Catalogic, "SUSE Rancher Prime provides a powerful way to enhance the Kubernetes management experience, and CloudCasa's Rancher Extension ensures that users can now manage their backups just as easily. By bringing CloudCasa's agent installation, backup monitoring, and policy management directly into the Rancher UI, we are making Kubernetes data protection more seamless and accessible—whether users are running their workloads on-premises, at the edge, or in the cloud."

Troy Topnik, Product Management Director for SUSE Rancher Prime Partners & Ecosystems, commented, "We're extremely happy that Catalogic has chosen to deepen the integration between CloudCasa and SUSE Rancher Prime using our extension framework. It shows how SUSE Rancher Prime's extensibility combined with a partner's domain expertise can improve the user experience for customers."

The integration is available immediately, and users can install the CloudCasa extension directly within the Rancher Prime user interface to begin protecting their Kubernetes workloads. For additional implementation support or customisations, Krumware, a partner in developing the extension and a SUSE partner, offers expertise in software and platform engineering to enhance the implementation process.
