Lexsoft integrates T3 search with ethical walls systems
Lexsoft Systems has announced the integration of its T3 legal knowledge management solution's search capability with ethical walls applications, specifically iManage SPM and Intapp Walls.
The integration with iManage SPM is immediately available to Lexsoft's T3 cloud customers. Lexsoft claims T3 is the first solution to provide such integration of ethical walls for knowledge search within the iManage platform. For users of Intapp Walls, the integration is planned for the second quarter of this year.
This development enables law firms to apply their document management system's ethical walls systemically throughout the knowledge management lifecycle. This is intended to protect client confidentiality and comply with client policies and jurisdictional data protection requirements.
These integrations are designed to address the document and content security needs of legal firms and departments. Organisations using these systems can ensure that ethical walls in place within the iManage platform also cover document searches accompanied by the process of content approval within the T3 system. Consequently, client information is kept secure across all knowledge management processes, from submission through to archiving.
"We have fulfilled a long-standing promise to customers with this new capability," said Carlos García-Egocheaga, CEO of Lexsoft Systems. "Law firms and legal departments can now be completely assured that they are adequately enforcing need-to-know access to their documents and content in the DMS as well as across the knowledge management process lifecycle, end-to-end. The same rules of need-to-know security apply to documents, regardless of whether they are in the active matter repository or the knowledge management system."
García-Egocheaga added, "T3 Search's integration with iManage SPM is yet another example of how deeply and seamlessly our T3 knowledge management system connects with the iManage platform. The close integration between our solutions ensures that customers rightly enhance the value of their investment in both these technologies."
The introduction of this feature follows Lexsoft's acquisition of the ISO 27017 certification. The T3 system provides a secure knowledge management option for the EU, UK, and US, powered by Microsoft Azure. The ethical walls application aims to provide robust, intuitive security features in line with ISO 27017 standards.
Ensuring data protection and information security is a priority for T3. Processes like document anonymisation and redaction are standard in both cloud and on-premises versions of T3. Ethical walls rules are embedded in the T3 curation workflows, automatically applying to documents pending anonymisation. These walls are subsequently removed once documents are anonymised to ensure confidentiality without unnecessary restrictions. Additionally, metadata is scrubbed of sensitive information, omitting client or project names.
