Proofpoint names David Morrow Channel Chief for UK

Proofpoint has appointed David Morrow as Director of Channels for the UK, Ireland and South Africa, expanding its regional channel leadership across the three markets.

Morrow will oversee channel strategy and the partner ecosystem in the region. His remit includes advancing Proofpoint's channel-first approach and supporting partners serving cybersecurity customers.

He joins with more than 20 years of experience in enterprise technology and cybersecurity channel roles, most recently holding senior positions at Microsoft and Varonis.

The appointment comes as businesses in the UK, Ireland and South Africa face rising cyber threats alongside wider adoption of artificial intelligence. Proofpoint said the hire reflects its effort to strengthen regional channel management as partners respond to that demand.

Earlier, it launched the Proofpoint Partner Network, a revised channel programme aimed at partner growth. The programme includes incentives, enablement and closer collaboration with partners.

Morrow will work with partners across the three markets, placing him at the centre of Proofpoint's efforts to expand indirect sales and customer reach through resellers and other channel organisations.

Proofpoint describes itself as a cybersecurity supplier focused on protecting people, data and AI across email, cloud and collaboration tools. It says it works with more than 80 of the Fortune 100, more than 10,000 large enterprises and millions of smaller organisations.

In a statement, Morrow outlined his view of the role and the company's partner strategy.

Proofpoint's EMEA leadership presented the appointment as part of a wider investment in partners. The brief spans established technology markets in the UK and Ireland as well as South Africa, where demand for cybersecurity services has grown as organisations move more operations online.

For suppliers such as Proofpoint, channel leaders often play a key role in recruiting partners, shaping sales programmes and coordinating go-to-market activity. Those functions have taken on greater importance as customers seek advice on email security, data protection and the risks linked to AI use in business settings.
