Rubrik to integrate DSPM into its Security Cloud by 2025

Yesterday

Rubrik has announced that its Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) will be integrated within the Rubrik Security Cloud, providing existing customers with enhanced data protection features.

This integration allows organisations to activate DSPM capabilities directly within their current Rubrik environment, thus avoiding the lengthy deployment processes often associated with standalone solutions.

The feature aims to enable users to streamline the identification of data risks across cloud, SaaS, and on-premises environments, assisting in the secure adoption of AI technologies while ensuring the protection of sensitive information.

The integration is designed to provide a unified approach by combining DSPM and Cyber Recovery capabilities in a single platform to bolster cyber resilience. By utilising Microsoft MIP labelling, Rubrik Security Cloud is expected to facilitate near real-time data classification and risk identification across various environments.

Mike Tornincasa, Chief Business Officer at Rubrik, commented on the challenges faced by organisations when using generative AI (Gen AI).

He said, "Gen AI can unlock innovation for organisations of all sizes and industries, but it doesn't come without challenges. While many are eager to deploy these tools, ensuring the right data is being inputted can be a time-consuming task, ultimately slowing down implementation." Tornincasa added, "Additionally, organisations struggle to contain the risk of sensitive or critical data getting leaked through Gen AI, especially as that data grows rapidly across fragmented environments."

"Having Rubrik DSPM within Rubrik's comprehensive Cyber Resilience platform reduces that complexity to help accelerate AI adoption, and secure data wherever it lives."

This DSPM integration aims to provide organisations with control and visibility over data by automatically finding and classifying sensitive data, enabling security measures to minimise exposure risks.

It also aids in managing permissions and rectifies issues with data sensitivity labels, reducing the likelihood of unauthorised access.

The solution is positioned to drive immediate value by leveraging existing Rubrik Security Cloud infrastructure, expediting deployment, and eliminating the need for multiple data snapshots or disruptive scans, commonly required by other DSPM tools.

Rubrik DSPM within Rubrik Security Cloud will be generally available starting early 2025.

The company suggests that this solution will simplify DSPM deployment for its existing customers, who will have immediate access to enhanced security capabilities without the necessity for additional audits from different tools.
