CybaVerse pivots to CybaOps in cyber operations push
CybaVerse has rebranded, shifting from consultancy-led cyber security work to a platform-led model centred on cyber operations.
The London-based vendor said the change reflects how security teams now operate under pressure from growing alert volumes, fragmented tools and limited staff. CybaVerse is positioning its CybaOps platform as the foundation of this approach.
Operational shift
In its announcement, CybaVerse argued that the industry's focus on visibility has created new problems for many organisations. Security teams may face more dashboards and alerts without gaining greater control over outcomes. It also pointed to poor integration between tools as a key source of operational strain.
As part of the rebrand, CybaVerse has formalised a role concept it calls the Cyber Operator. It describes Cyber Operators as security professionals who take ownership of outcomes rather than focusing on monitoring alone. They are expected to understand their environment, reduce operational noise and act on prioritised issues.
Chief executive Oliver Spence framed the shift as a move away from reactive work. "We help organisations move from managing cyber to operating it," Spence said. "When you can see clearly, act decisively and stay ahead of risk, you stop reacting to threats and start commanding your security posture."
CybaVerse linked the Cyber Operator concept to a broader expectation that security teams operate as part of business operations, rather than as standalone defenders. It said this view shapes how it designs services and sells into organisations and managed service providers (MSPs).
CybaOps platform
CybaVerse is placing CybaOps at the centre of its strategy, describing it as a single operating model for security operations spanning automation, orchestration and response. It also includes continuous monitoring, incident response, certification support and AI-driven insights.
The vendor said the approach improves prioritisation and speeds up action, while reducing complexity compared with managing multiple disconnected systems. It did not disclose customer numbers, platform usage metrics or revenue figures.
CybaVerse said the rebrand follows a £5 million Series A funding round, the acquisition of SecureAck and growing adoption of CybaOps. It did not name investors or disclose the acquisition terms.
SecureAck deal
CybaVerse said the SecureAck acquisition is central to its platform strategy, strengthening control over alert ingestion, workflow automation and integrations across security tools.
Spence said the deal reduced reliance on external dependencies in the platform stack. "With SecureAck, we removed a major dependency," he said. "It allowed us to accelerate platform development and give customers something they've been missing for years - a way to actually operate security, not just observe it."
CybaVerse said the market pressures it sees are particularly acute for mid-market organisations and MSPs, which often manage complex environments without the budgets and headcount available to larger enterprises. It said it will prioritise MSP partners for CybaOps as it scales.
Founded in 2018, CybaVerse now has more than 40 employees. It said it supports an expanding base of organisations and MSP partners across the UK.
Channel focus
CybaVerse has sought greater visibility with channel partners as it grows and said it was shortlisted at the CRN Channel Awards 2025 in the Rising Star Security Vendor of the Year category.
Spence said the rebrand is intended to signal a wider critique of how cyber security tools are sold and deployed.
"The industry keeps selling more complexity as progress, but more tools don't equal better security. Control does," Spence said.
CybaVerse said its next phase will focus on scaling CybaOps for MSPs and organisations seeking clearer operational ownership across security work.
