Quadient & KeyNest partnership enhances UK key exchange network

Tue, 28th May 2024

Quadient has entered into a strategic partnership with KeyNest to expand its key exchange network across the UK. This collaboration aims to enhance the key exchange experience for businesses and individuals, utilising Quadient's extensive locker network. KeyNest, a global key exchange service frequently used by Airbnb hosts and property professionals, will integrate its operations with Quadient's locker systems.

KeyNest provides a practical solution for property hosts, managers, and customers to exchange keys securely and conveniently. Users can connect via their KeyNest.com account, select a locker at a convenient location, and then scan their KeyNest QR code to access a designated compartment for key deposit. The recipient retrieves the keys using a single-use, 8-digit code generated through Quadient's cloud-based automated notification system. This new feature is designed to make the key exchange process more secure and simpler for various needs, from property rentals to car sharing.

Katia Bourgeais-Crmel, Director of Parcel Locker Solutions Europe at Quadient, expressed pride in this expansion, noting the attractiveness of their open locker network. She said, "Parcel Pending by Quadient lockers have become integral to UK consumer habits, located within their communities, and providing services that bring value to their daily lives. We are very happy to be achieving a new milestone in the expansion of our network usage with KeyNest and look forward to continuing to bring to market innovations that meet the changing needs of our customers and users."

Quadient's locker network is strategically placed in high-traffic locations, including Rontec and MFG forecourts, Stonegate Group pubs, and APCOA parking sites. The partnership comes at a time when key safes are being banned from public spaces in many UK cities due to security concerns. KeyNest's service is actively used in over 7,000 locations globally, with over 2,000 sites in the UK alone. By leveraging Quadient's smart lockers, KeyNest aims to streamline daily tasks for local residents and facilitate easier interactions for hosts, contractors, property managers, housing associations and real estate agents.

Florian Hoven, CEO of KeyNest, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, "Quadient is the leading network of parcel lockers, not just from the breadth and depth of their network, but thanks to its robust technology platform, which has enabled us to invest into a seamless integration. We are delighted to announce that Quadient lockers will be compatible with KeyNest's direct integrations with Airbnb, Booking.com and over 120 property management software solutions."

Quadient's open locker network is utilised by millions of consumers, and its expansion into key exchanges is a significant milestone. The company aims to provide a seamless pickup and delivery experience underpinned by a sustainable model for both businesses and consumers. This joint endeavour with KeyNest underscores the company's commitment to expanding the reach and functionality of its locker services.
