Silobreaker teams up with DarkOwl for advanced darknet threat intelligence
A new agreement has been announced between Silobreaker, the noted security and threat intelligence technology firm, and prime darknet data provider, DarkOwl. The integration will bring about a significant advancement in Silobreaker's data partnership programme, providing refined monitoring of the deep and dark web to pinpoint risk at scale and aid superior decision-making.
London-headquartered Silobreaker has incorporated DarkOwl's Credential Monitoring solution within its framework. This specific system persistently scans the darknet and its adjacent sites for exposed credentials, hence permitting Silobreaker customers to receive meticulous alerting and analytics on a single platform.
The necessity for swift detection and response to exposed credentials is extremely critical, as any oversight or laxity can result in significant reputational damage and financial loss, the company states.
The Silobreaker product concentrating on credential monitoring focuses on customers' email domains. It continuously checks deep and dark web sources, data dumps, paste sites, and shared username/password lists on platforms like Telegram and Discord for any exposure. Once a leak is discovered, intelligence on the leaked credentials is automatically made available on the Silobreaker platform.
The data will include information about when and where the exposure transpired and whether passwords were incorporated. If passwords are found, Silobreaker offers valuable insights into their composition, assisting organisations in understanding whether the identified passwords conform with their set password policies.
Speaking on the development, Kristofer Mansson, CEO of Silobreaker, stated, "Detecting and triaging exposed credentials quickly and with minimum manual effort is crucial – the longer credentials are exposed, the greater the risk of compromise."
"Our latest integration with DarkOwl expands our ecosystem of data partners and provides customers with a cost-efficient, structured, and enhanced approach to credential monitoring. And with DarkOwl's results seamlessly integrated into Silobreaker in alerts and visualised on searchable dashboards, security teams are equipped with the visibility they need to identify exposed credentials faster and more effectively."
DarkOwl CEO, Mark Turnage, put his weight behind the partnership, reckoning, "This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission of empowering organisations with the most comprehensive cybersecurity solutions. Silobreaker is forward-thinking in incorporating darknet data into their solutions and we are delighted to be that provider as credential theft is surely to be a top threat in 2024."
The amalgamation of DarkOwl's credential monitoring capabilities into Silobreaker supplies businesses with an even wider, more exhaustive view of potential threats. This proactive approach empowers businesses to identify threats at scale before they escalate into significant incidents. It also drives superior decision-making to resource allocation most effectively and minimising risk at large.
