Wallix unveils PAM Core to boost mid-sized firms’ cybersecurity

Thu, 9th Oct 2025

Wallix has announced the launch of Wallix One PAM Core, a new software-as-a-service solution aimed at enhancing the security of internal privileged access for mid-sized businesses.

The newly released PAM Core is designed to help companies address the increasing threat of cyberattacks while adapting to regulatory requirements such as the NIS2 directive. The solution is targeted at organisations across sectors including retail, logistics, utilities, and healthcare, which often face challenges in deploying traditional cybersecurity tools due to complexity and the effort required for integration.

Focus on essentials

Wallix is known in the identity and access management (IAM) sector for providing cybersecurity options for both information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) environments. The company claims that Wallix One PAM Core provides a straightforward path for mid-sized businesses to govern internal access to critical systems and devices within their digital infrastructure.

According to Wallix, privileged access is a fundamental vulnerability for many organisations, and controlling such access is "an essential starting point in the implementation of a cybersecurity policy and a privileged access management strategy." The new SaaS offering, the company states, delivers security reinforcement without requiring changes to existing infrastructure and addresses compliance obligations under NIS2 and ISO 27001, which mandate strict access traceability for sensitive systems.

The solution is said to provide immediate risk reduction and improved visibility into privileged accounts, forming a basis for future extensions such as third-party access management and least-privilege policies.

Modular and scalable

Wallix One PAM Core is structured to support organisations as their cybersecurity maturity develops, through the use of a modular approach that lets organisations add functionality as and when needed, without major technical disruption.

"WALLIX One PAM Core is much more than an entry point to a PAM strategy: it is a concrete response to the expectations of managers faced with regulatory pressure and the need to control costs. We provide mid-sized companies with an essential solution for their cyber protection, without technical burdens or hidden costs. Our customers want efficiency, simplicity, and the ability to evolve their system at their own pace, " explains Julien Cassignol, CTPO of WALLIX.

The company says this approach is intended to address the realities facing mid-sized businesses, many of whom are front-line targets for cybercriminals but may be unable to absorb the costs and disruptions associated with more complex security deployments.

The solution is positioned to offer immediate improvements in operational efficiency and security, with no overhaul of current IT environments required. Features can be added as companies' needs and compliance demands grow. Wallix also notes that businesses subject to new regulations, either directly or as subcontractors of regulated entities, may find the tool useful to meet and maintain security standards and supplier status.

Market demand

Jean-Noël de Galzain, CEO of WALLIX, adds: "This offer, dedicated to mid-sized companies, meets the security needs identified in the Security Industry Strategic Sector Contract (CSF) 2024-2027. These companies are frequently under-equipped with cybersecurity solutions, and on the front line of cyberattacks with a lack of resources and means. Some are also subcontractors of large organisations subject to regulations such as NIS2 or Dora and must upgrade to remain suppliers."
"It is therefore essential to offer them packaged, competitive and easy-to-deploy solutions. This is what motivated the design of this offer, to allow them to be equipped with PAM and IAM and thus strengthen their cybersecurity with an adapted business model. The WALLIX One PAM Core offer will also be available to certified partners, distributors and MSPs, in all our territories."

The PAM Core solution will be distributed through Wallix's partner network, encompassing certified resellers, distributors, and managed service providers in all markets where Wallix operates.

Wallix's launch of PAM Core in the UK aligns with efforts to support cyber autonomy for domestic organisations, with claims the product integrates with UK standards such as Cyber Essentials and ISO/IEC, as well as European standards.

The company is aiming to support small- and medium-sized enterprises as well as larger national infrastructure operators to meet growing regulatory and security challenges, particularly as digital transformation and remote working continue to complicate access management in hybrid IT and OT environments.
