Assurix launches real-time trustmark for MSPs with live checks

Wed, 8th Oct 2025

Assurix has launched a real-time trustmark designed for managed service providers (MSPs), offering continuous verification of security and service standards based on live operational data.

The new trustmark uses integrations with Professional Services Automation (PSA), Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools, and Microsoft 365 to provide up-to-date evidence of cybersecurity and service maturity. According to Assurix, this approach directly addresses demand from buyers and insurers for more frequent and objective assurance compared with traditional annual certificates and audits.

Continuous checks

Assurix's system verifies over 25 high-impact controls at launch, selected from a larger 68-control library that aligns with the National Cyber Security Centre's (NCSC) Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) 4.0. These controls cover areas such as service level agreement (SLA) adherence, privileged access hygiene, patch and vulnerability management, backup health and recoverability, supplier risk, software provenance and update management, security monitoring, use of threat intelligence, and incident response preparedness.

Integrations with ConnectWise PSA, Halo PSA, ConnectWise RMM, Datto, Microsoft 365, and Inforcer enable read-only access to operational data, allowing MSPs to demonstrate compliance with minimal additional administrative work. The real-time nature of the trustmark allows MSPs to present their security and operational status to prospects and insurers via a web console.

Enforced accountability

The platform adopts a policy of enforced accountability, offering MSPs a 30-day window in which to remediate any critical controls that fall out of tolerance. Failure to resolve issues within this timeframe results in the automatic suspension of the trustmark. This policy aims to make the trustmark more credible and transparent for buyers, as any loss of compliance is reflected publicly in a directory maintained by Assurix.

"For years, MSPs have been asked to prove trust with PDFs. That era is over. Live controls beat static certificates-and they help great providers charge what they're worth. Assurix makes trust continuous, with a 30-day fix window and suspension if standards slip," said Mit Patel, Founder & CEO, Assurix.

The trustmark is designed to help MSPs justify their pricing to buyers by providing clear, third-party verified, and live evidence of both cybersecurity hygiene and service performance.

Insurer perspectives

Assurix has reported early signals from insurers regarding the trustmark's potential impact on underwriting and pricing. Matthew Norris of Beazley commented, "Assurix's real-time verification is an innovative way to support PI underwriting for MSPs. We're excited about the plans and see potential for significant premium discounts for qualifying risks." The company clarified that any discounts would remain subject to underwriting criteria and are not guaranteed at this stage.

Industry uptake

At launch, Assurix confirmed that 25 UK MSPs have joined as part of the founding cohort, reflecting early interest from the sector. The founding cohort members are not publicly named at present. The company indicated that ongoing onboarding for this cohort is planned, with general availability targeted for January 2026.

In addition to serving MSPs directly, the trustmark is intended to support corporate buyers in their procurement decisions. The public directory, which shows which MSPs possess an active and valid trustmark, is designed to provide transparency and clearer accountability when selecting IT service partners, especially as regulatory expectations increase regarding continuous assurance for supply chain security.

Regulatory context

Assurix's launch comes as the UK moves towards regulatory expectations that MSPs operating in critical supply chains must meet ongoing assurance requirements, rather than relying solely on annual or periodic audits. The system has been developed by a team led by Mit Patel, a former MSP operator with nearly 20 years of experience, most notably leading Netstar in London to an annual recurring revenue of approximately GBP £8 million before its exit.

The trustmark's controls and criteria, based on the NCSC's CAF 4.0, address a broad range of sector concerns, including performance metrics, vulnerability management, supply chain, and incident response standards. With public scrutiny increasing and insurers seeking greater clarity on MSP risk maturity, the move to live, automated verification could reflect a wider trend towards continuous assurance in the IT services sector.
